Loftus has said she's going to do an entire episode later in the series about Cathy's relationship with diet, weight, and body image. She's going impressively deep and thorough, and like in her Lolita podcast, the first episode is sort of a broad-strokes picture of the subject matter and the ones that follow focus in on particular aspects of the work. If anyone in this thread isn't already listening to this podcast, I'd really highly recommend it - last night, I listened to a recent one in which the history of women (both as depictions and creators) in newspaper comic strips is explored, and a lot of thread favorites are discussed: Brenda Starr, Patty-Jo and Ginger, Mopsy, Gay and Her Gang, early Blondie, etc.
