That seems implausible, since the Japanese Meteorological Agency isn’t even tracking a tropical depression in that area: https://www.jma.go.jp/bosai/map.html#4/27.606/129.715/&elem=root&typhoon=all&contents=typhoon&lang=en On the other hand, I can’t remember the last time the Japanese Grand Prix wasn’t affected by a typhoon, so it does seem that international sporting events in Japan are cursed.
