Saw both of the guys at the Cincinnati Zoo yesterday. Neither one wanted to ever turn and look at the guests but they were cute regardless. One foraging and eating, one sleeping way up in the trees. I love the sweet little guys.

I got (almost) to pet a red panda the other week! Local-ish zoo has these, and my wife asked if they would have special package for our wedding trip. Turns out they do, so we got 2 hours alone in the zoo, with the red pandas. We got to build a treat trees (apples, bananas etc hung on a bamboo stick) d the zoo keeper fed and did some tricks with the less human hating panda and it got super close. What amazing critters. Cost was 140 euros and well worth it, most of the money went to red panda preservation fund. On the other hand, just for being in a zoo without annoying kids and having access to behind the scenes made well worth it.

I think I was cramming too many embedded videos into each post. It takes a minute or so to load for me while it grabs all of the videos from youtube. It's easier on the app when you can have it only show new posts. We'll be on a new page in around 15 posts or so if you use the 40 per page view, so I'll tone it down a bit. Cattail Sapporo has a couple of historic videos of the pandas but nothing new from Maruyama. He's been doing more video of parks and temples as well as some promotional stuff for hot springs and hotels. Iwatatube has a few new lesser reports from Yagiyama. Red Panda Network symbolic adoption money goes to conservation and work protecting the red pandas. $50 adoptions come with a small plush and information about the panda you select and pandas in general, the $100 option has a larger plush panda or a calendar or t-shirt. Your donation goes into their income and they work to help wildlife in general. Also good but not as specific. I haven't done it before but I'm thinking about it.

Trying to find a good Red Panda calendar can be very hit or miss too. Hopefully with more awareness can come better merch.

I'm so glad Kokin is doing well. With all of Seita and Coco's children being gone at least some of their grandchildren seem to be thriving.
