You've got to admit, you are kind of implausible

I loved Hunter falling through the trees like Rambo in First Blood. I'm kind of hoping we get a First Blood style ep next week, with him escaping, and being pursued, armed only with his knife

They have gotten so good at animation in this style, I can't wait for the next non-clone adjacent property to come out from this group.

So wait I haven't kept up with bad batch, but Scorch was in an episode and didn't say two lines? I'm not sure if I'd be happy he didn't talk since they wouldn't get Raphael back and Baker doing his voice would sound wrong or if I'm sad he didn't quip like a dumbass manchild.

I watched some more Clone Wars S6

The Clovis / Banking arc was good. Though the show is pretty consistently good at this point I wasn't expecting much and it was a pleasant surprise. It felt like someone heard the complaints about politics in the prequels and decided to write a story about a fight over the banks as a challenge. The story is very clearly getting close to Episode 3 and while it's not as overt as Ahsoka leaving or Order 66 being discovered, between the Republic gaining a huge victory and Anakin's rage and jealousy being prominent it's clear that we're in the home stretch.

The Jar-Jar / Mace arc sucks. People will tell you "this is the one where Jar Jar is good" and nope, he still sucks. Aside from hating Jar-Jar (and not really liking Mace) I don't like it when the show diverges much from the way the movies present the Force. It's part of why I didn't like the Mortis arc, and part of why I hated most of the Nightsisters stuff, and it's fully on display here. The Indiana Jones stuff was cute I guess.

Given I know the next arc has elements of both I'm really curious to see how I find it.

I like the Jar Jar episodes as a way to troll people. I hate the Yoda arc that comes next though. Maul doing the Gollum routine was bad enough but the Yoda arc does it twice with different characters and it drives me nuts.

I really haven't liked Maul much in Clone Wars, which surprised me since his stuff in Rebels was great (especially his first appearance).

Maul is handled rather poorly in clone wars, but his season 7 appearance is pretty good. I dont think the writers really knew what to do with him, which is why they decided to make his brother a new Sith apprentice before immediately ditching that idea and going "why don't we just use Maul instead?" So Maul gets tossed around from plot to plot until they decide he'll be a crime boss but then he's also Mandalore but then he is a crime boss again and it just goes in circles.

The only two things about Maul that really work in TCW and Rebels are his obsession with vengeance against Obi-Wan and his "only sane man" approach to avoid Sidious's coming purge.

Inconsistency is what holds both shows back even if they're overall decent. You have a number of episodes that can be downright brilliant and several that are solidly good, but then you also have stretches where the stories just fall flat, or are downright bad, or it's clear that plots and characters are getting mashed together for little reason. Barriss, for example, was a victim of the show ditching half the supporting cast and failing to develop any meaningful relationships between Ahsoka and other characters after season 3. When the show pulled back from the broad view of the war to really focus on Obi Wan, Anakin and Ahsoka and their adventures it felt like the scope became more limited and because supporting characters could go several seasons without appearing it made certain twists feel cheap and unearned because they weren't built up.

Fives, for example, only started developing as a character after literally every other, more interesting, member of Domino Squad died or vanished.

I thought the Mandalore arc was pretty well handled in terms of Maul finding crime boss as his calling.

Like he knew Pre Visla was going to betray him and while he initially seemed indifferent to becoming the Mandalorian leader, once he had it the power of it appealed to him. Just as he was leaning into it, Sidious basically imparts onto him that Maul is becoming too big and that maybe he should just stick with crime boss.

After the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Poe Dameron and BB-8 must make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet Mustafar where they meet the greedy and conniving Graballa the Hutt. The crime boss has purchased Darth Vader’s castle and is renovating it into the galaxy’s first all-inclusive Sith-inspired luxury hotel.

While waiting for his X-Wing to be repaired, Poe, BB-8, Graballa, and Dean (a plucky and courageous young boy who works as Graballa’s mechanic) venture deep into the mysterious castle with Vader’s loyal servant, Vaneé. Along the way, Vaneé shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars.

As Vaneé spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges. With the help of Dean, Poe and BB-8 will have to face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising, and escape to make it back to their friends.

Lego by it's nature is five steps removed from any actual expectations from fans other than the ones they set for themselves. They've been very wise to play loose with everything they've done in film and games and rely entirely on their existing brand cache. They're allowed to do things with other people's IP that not even the IP holders are allowed to do. When I worked at Disney I was always jealous of their freedom.

The director of the Visions episode The Ninth Jedi said it’s post-TROS, though obviously it won’t be strictly Canon either. There’s also the Rogue Squadron movie coming up.

Given how late this announcement came, looks like it's going to be decided on a season by season basis.

I don't think this is necessarily the case. If its going to be airing in 2022 its likely already in production. I think the announcement is just being made near the end of the season to get everyone hype.

that being said, I want/need a show that is a bit more grandiose and mystical and force-adjacent with the same quality this team is putting into these bad batch episodes. Their shows are so loving good looking now and CWS7 was amazing so please give me a new show too!!
