I’d say this is a distinction without a difference. even continual printing will hit a limit eventually and then…?

I knew a guy who's on the wrong side of 40, still doing the postdoc grind and got a great offer from Korea. And after taking one close look he still went back to his funded-three-months-at-a-time position.

It has been a bit but it used to be that pretty much the left-wing factions always get trash canned because they almost always get ganged up on by Germany and the Entente. Maybe the Russia rework helped it out, but the Left-Kuomintang also to be nearly unplayable and you would have to use the cheesiest tactics possible to survive.

Not if Russia goes fash. I think I only saw Russia go socialist once, because it's like way deep down the decision tree compared to all the other options.

So here the last bulwark of socialism is in Asia.

Edit: I guess Germany isn't as OP as in the base game, because Russia seems to win more often.

the actual article contains very few examples of actual chinese trolling and most of what it does have is really milquetoast

quote:

Last week, Chinese internet users also lashed out after Japanese gymnast Daiki Hashimoto beat his Chinese rival in the men's all-around final to win gold.

Chinese gymnast Xiao Ruoteng reportedly received a deduction on his performance in his final rotation because he failed to salute the judges before his horizontal bar routine, as per the rules.

Chinese netizens received the explanation poorly, accusing the judges of being biased towards an athlete from the host country, and Hashimoto's social media account also became a target of Chinese trolls.

that sounds like a really dumb rule btw and the chinese trolls were right to be salty

The subway company did a particularly bad job, both on the day of the storm and afterward in term of paying attention to the feeling of the deceased family. I think some people will lost their jobs.

The tunnel was also completely flooded. But I think "only" 5 people died in the tunnel so they are probably fine.

So Taiwan is famous for having almost the same starting salary for the college graduated for the last 20 years. The actual number is not as bad as it sounds but low starting salary for college grads has been a running joke. I have watch a few Taiwanese news special that follow young people who fine jobs in Japan and Australia. There are a few docs for Taiwanese young people working in mainland too but in general Taiwanese news channel are very green leaning and they don't want to touch this area. I impression is Taiwanese people are pretty flexible in the job market (compare to the HKers for example.)

I would like to watch similar docs for Korean young people. Do "Asian Boss" make in-depth specials for these people?

Christopher Clark argues in his book that Austria-Hungary could have possibly just attacked right away without warning as a retaliation without triggering a war between the two political alliances. Russia was building a narrative that Serbia was innocent in the assassination, with tacit support from Britain/France, and the time spent on the trial and establishing guilt was very helpful for that.

Austria was mobilizing across July, the trial and demands were simply pretext. The initial Austrian-Hungarian offensive was also a failure despite that. I don't see any way of Austria avoiding Russia coming to Serbia's aid.

It depends on if other countries are printing at the same time. The EU has been expanding its monetary supply as well, but they also have been vaccinating to an higher extent and therefore may have a more viable exit strategy.

I just want to say it blew my friend in LA's mind how incredibly difficult the NBC et all makes it to watch or even read about the current olympics while in china there's like 2 public channels dedicated to covering it. USA gets the most medals but prevents its own public from participating in watching, it really is shocking how hosed our society is.

I just remembered that when it was easier for me to look up what events china has gold in than USA because all the articles google serves me are behind a paywall. And also Peacock streaming service doesn't have live coverage so you pay $15 for them to give you their recaps or $65 for NBC to watch with their lovely commentary.

CCT5 and CCTV5+ have very positive commentary even of other countries and all the tickers are in english so just watch the CCTV coverage for free on

the number of PRC immigrants to the rest of the world is probably more politically/culturally significant than immigrants to China

given the Japanese xenophobia towards the Chinese, i'm kinda amazed at how the low-end service industry (convenience stores, wait staff etc) in Japan is increasingly manned by Chinese guest workers

There's been kind of a general push to make those jobs more "diverse" by hiring more foreigners, but of course it's only low level minimum wage gigs so most of those people are students or from developing countries.

i'm not aware of any documentaries like that for south korea, your best bet is probably going to be news articles/investigative journalism. the hyper-exploitative conditions of the labor market are pretty well documented at this point. i'm getting my knowledge from having lived there and chatted to people.

South Korea seems to be where China is headed towards in terms of prospects of millenials

it's amusing to see western lefties being triumphalist about purported attempts to cut down on Big Tuition in China
the reliance on tuition isn't the cause but a symptom of how most Chinese kids' futures are determined by a couple exams and richer kids will always have the resources to get into better schools. the universities are a sorting mechanism for a limited number of high paying white collar jobs

another area where late stage communism isn't that far off from late stage capitalism

the private tuition industry is a cancer and a massive part of richer kids having the resources to win out. beating it down doesn't solve the primary issue but it's a massive step that none of the other countries with the same issue (south korea, india) are taking so its amusing to see righties trying to play it down.

From what I have read/seen discussed, I doubt young people in China as a whole are as pessimistic about their prospects as young people in US. The closet parallel would probably be in first tier cities where affordability is much more of an issue.

China is a mixed economy but at least there are some ways that pressure is released.

It absolutely does, not because private tutors and schools are necessarily better than public ones but they become elite networks used to exclude the poor. Those who pay for "superior education" will be more easily accepted to prestigious and powerful universities because of "networking".

Yeah, Scandinavian countries have been heavily moving in the other direction for years.

Anyway, the only way things change are if there is constant geopolitical pressure being put on the US and it is obvious only one country is capable of it.
