the reports were absolutely not that they had their choice of players if you are talking about who else they could have had for kuzma/kcp. lebron looked dead at the end of the season so him running the point every possession minus schroder/kcp/kuzma means they're probably missing the playoffs. i don't care if they can re-sign andre drummond for the minimum.

If your stars are exhausted and running out of gas trading your remaining young players for another max salary over-30 star may not be the solution you're looking for. I get it, they need another ball handler and they'd already decided Schroder isn't going to cut it. OK. Maybe you can't land Lowry or whomever is the #1 option. But they didn't even take a swing at free agency to fill the need. Now they're all-in on Westbrook going into free agency. I think that is very stupid. But we'll see how it plays out.
