RIP Trevor. He has brought me many hours of laughter over the years.

I hope he went out in some otherwise hilarious freak accident that he would've wanted to turn into a sketch.

I doubt we'll hear anything about that any time soon. Anyway, they said this:

quote:

“Early this morning, we learned that we lost our brother, our collaborator and the driving force behind WKUK," Cregger and Brown wrote. "He was our best friend, and we speak for all of us in saying that the loss of Trevor is unimaginable. We are heartbroken and our grief pales in comparison to the loss felt by his wife and son. On behalf of WKUK, we ask for privacy during our time of profound grief, and strength for his family who are dealing with the impossible thought of living life without him. Our hope is that friends, fellow artists, and fans that loved him will not focus on his death, but will remember the countless moments of laughter he gave them.”

there's a great story in one of the commentary tracks where they walked by some ~13 year old boys and one of them said... I want to say it was "human being" but it might just as well have been "buttmunch", and Sam (who, for those of you who don't know, is like 6'3" and built like a caveman) immediately turned to the kid who said it and screamed "YOU'RE THE human being" and the rest of the guys pulled him away like "sam, that's a child"

what makes it even better to me is they have another story about them all taking some kind of intelligence tests and Sam scoring the best? and if you watch the streams and stuff with that in mind, you can actually kinda see it. Sam has an intellectual quality about him, he's thoughtful and well-read, he just also has this amazing, lumbering beercan energy

Speaking of WKUK, does anyone have a clip of a live performance where they pitted the audience against eachother with a war speech? It was far the funniest sketch I've seen, and I never found it again and I don't know what to search for.

Sorry if anyone posted it already, I'm at a place which blocked youtube so can't access it right now.

Sketch starts at about 8 minutes

Edit: They actually switch live shows during the charge. Apparently someone got pretty hurt so they just cut to a different one.

gently caress this sucks. I loved WKUK when they were first making sketches and always kept an eye on what Trevor was up to because he really was the star of that group and I felt like he would one day break out and become huge sort of like Bo Burnham without the focus on music if that makes sense (although he was musically talented). He just had this edge and darkness to his comedy. Sadly he never really became as huge as I imagine he would but when I decided to check in fairly recently on WKUK and found out they were reuniting of sorts on YouTube with the commentaries etc I was super happy and then this happens and ugh, hits like a truck.

True story, when I was in film school about 10 years ago, original cast SNL writer Anne Beatts came to speak in one of our classes about sketch comedy, and we got to show her some of our favorite all time sketches. One of us showed her Slow Jerk and she said it was "cute", and enjoyed the other couple WKUK sketches we showed her. She also passed this year, back in April.

This sucks, Trevor was great.

that and race war are probably my two favorites from casually browsing the youtube videos they were allowed to post. whatever that says about me....

im guessing he probably did something accidentally while drunk. I just binged some of their twitch shows over the last year and they constantly talk and joke about death and I really think he just had one to many literal white claws (he drinks them on stream the entire time every time) and hurt himself in a tragic way

you will actually be missed Trevor. I know you were terrified of death but it's all over now.

It's pretty drat obvious that Trevor was very tall, I just didn't know until recently how tall. He was 6'6. He made the rest of them look average and they clearly are not.
