Andrew Neil may never return to GB News following rift with chief exec

quote:

Andrew Neil may never return from his summer holiday following a rift with GB News chief executive, Angelos Frangopoulos.

The channel’s chairman decided to take a back seat in June, just weeks after the channel launched, saying he would be“before summer is out”.

But that has yet to materialise, and according to sources within the right-leaning channel, the veteran broadcaster may never return.

Speaking to the Telegraph, they said: “People in Paddington (where the channel is based) felt left in the lurch by (Andrew Neil’s) sudden departure.

“We couldn’t understand why he was going so soon after the launch.

“We did feel let down.

“That said, he looked miserable, dejected and seriously stressed during the two weeks he was in Paddington."

It’s super serious thing which happens quite regularly but people importing foreign beasts usually isolate, get the tests, and then if it’s positive immediately put them down, inform defra with evidence of the isolation and a “please don’t cull my herd” and then sue the gently caress out of whoever they bought it off/transported it via contract clauses.

My point is mostly just that the argument that this thing needs capping right now as a clear and present danger to the nation's cows is somewhat undermined by the thing having been sat there for 4 years.

This is extremely funny; their big shot at creating a fully-reactionary UK TV channel and they blew it through incompetence (and giving jobs to each others' nephews)

If it'd been well-produced and popular there's no way Neil would have stopped, it's all politics he agrees with. I wonder what his excuse will be? Maybe the channel "wasn't enough in favour of freedom of speech" or "not unbiased enough"?

All the UK reactionaries are already down the britain-patriot-bulldog-news.de news rabbit hole, which goes full racist and Jew-naming, so GBNews would never be able to compete with what they actually wanted, and it turns out that the market for what they think a big brain grown up conservative leaning news channel without that would look like is about 1,000 people top.

And Stewart Pearson, the analogue for Cameron's guru Steve Hilton, was a great character that captured that particularly odd moment wonderfully. And the moment he got told he was heading for the bin lead to this scene with an exquisite metaphor for the Conservative Party

The alpaca has been tested with the alpaca test and keeps returning positive results. DEFRA are the arbiters of policy, testing, certification etc, but that is what they are supposed to do. It's the department working as intended. People in this thread have pretty rightly thrown shade at dickheads trying to gold fringe themselves up covid exemptions. Even if the policies are suboptimal, you get better results when everyone does what the actual specialists propose as a long term solution*

It (highly specific btb tests specialised for alpaca and llama) is one of the multiple parts of the story that the owner keeps brazenly lying about.

*I've not yet seen any specialists who think DEFRA have a loving clue about controlling btb, but I've also not seen anyone that thinks lying alpaca lawyer lady should not be ratfucked for being a general shithead
