Secretly force socialism, communism and imperialism types of government onto the people of the United States of America.

new ep out of nowhere was fun. continuing to like this arc. i am little concerned with the abrupt turn at the end that griffin is prematurely shunting the plot into a big overarching thing in another attempt to catch lightning. but idk. so far, what's important to me is that i'm enjoying listening a whole lot, i am not confused by an overwrought set-up, and i'm developing some degree of emotional attachment to these characters. i can connect with these characters and the npcs/settings/ideas and it's fun!

it's nice for history podcasts or other informational things when you're paying close attention, but using it for comedy seems totally insane
I used to have personal rules about not listening to comedy podcasts at high speeds, so I could hear the jokes as the speakers intended

now I don't give a crap, everything is on chipmunk speed let's gooo

MOM WAS RIGHT
If I'm listening to podcasts, that means I'm commuting and I don't have time to listen to people waffle around on a lovely bit that goes nowhere when I could be listening to music about selling drugs.

Overcast doesn't cut silences, it does a weird silence smoosh thing where it reduces silences without it ever feeling off. I listen to most podcasts on one tick over 1.0, with the silence smoosh thing enabled, which ends up being 1.2ish most of the time, and it feels totally normal. Anything that involves music frequently (so, Wonderful) is at 1.0. The silence smoosh doesn't do anything to music.

I promise you, a joke does not magically become unfunny because the pause before the punchline is 3.4 seconds instead of 4 seconds

This seems insane to me for an improv show where timing is entirely down to who can shoot their shot the fastest.

The podcast experience is RUINED if you don’t listen to them laughing at their own poo poo for the full 20 seconds. If that gets compressed down to 18, the saints cry.

no time to consume media, must consume media

more sincerely i guess I'm curious, if you aren't in it to fill a length of time with a thing you like, what exactly are you getting out of the experience? shortening it doesn't make a lot of sense to me!

A real hellraiser

The important thing about comedic timing is the ratios. If you preserve the same ratios you can go faster or slower and comedic timing is not affected.

It's like profit margin. I make Z% on every sale. If costs go up X% and I raise my prices by Y such that original cost

code:

Oc + (Oc * X) 1
------------- * ------- = Z%
      Y 100

Then my profit margin is the same. Comedy podcasts work the same way. That will be $10,000 dollars please

Travis no! There's an ongoing pandemic! Don't put your head in hole! Don't get your mouth so close to a horsie ride!

Anyway, cute video. Really gives you some good views of what each brother thinks makes for a good video for a comedy podcast theme song.

There are 10 trillion podcasts out there and 10% of my twitter follows are starting a new one any given week, it's not like getting through episodes 20% faster will exhaust the Strategic Podcast Reserve in a hurry. Especially now that I haven't had a commute for 2 years I need whatever help I can get just keeping up with the shows I've always followed.
