I still remember the day he came out, about 10 years ago I think. I was on leave from work, out for a mid afternoon walk with the baby when it happened. I was shocked that it actually happened but also felt stupid for ever doubting it would. Just phenomenal radio.

This is just awful. I can't believe he was only 57 years old. And who knows if the Benningtons can even get to the funeral with all the Delta Variant cases spiking in Florida, with Gail having a newborn and all. I really hope this thread can get a name change. I got into Ron & Fez pretty late, I think the show might even have finished before I started going back through the old archives - thanks to whoever originally linked the madness that was the Midnight Rider saga on here. He seemed to be doing pretty well happiness wise after leaving the show. Whenever he called in he was like the old Fez again. Though seeing the pictures from the Thanksgiving shows and the funeral for Ron's dad, it seems like he never really got his diet under control. I'm really curious how the Bennington crew does the show in the next few weeks. I think Ron is going to be a raw nerve and the first time Earl says some disingenuous "looking for the right answer" horseshit about Fez I think Ron will go loving nuclear and tear him to pieces. There's also going to come a point when the callers want to reminisce about all the good times of Fez and I dunno if Ron will be ready for anything poking fun at Fez. Without Gail there to balance out Ron it's gonna get ugly.
