It's more like they're going to keep wedging people in until everybody's standard of care falls through the floor as fewer and fewer nurses have to manage more and more patients with fewer and fewer resources. This is because healthcare providers are good people (generally) and genuinely do want to save people, and we were able to carry the first wave through people going above and beyond. But that human reserve that got us through the last one is rapidly depleting in the face of dumbshit citizenry and dumbshit governance, so...

That girl trembling triggered a memory, back in high school there was a clique of girls who all did that when they "got too hungry", they would claim they were all "hypoglycemic" and start just twitching like that collectively when lunch got close or they had to skip snacks. lol the hospitals near work are all 80%+ full, the closest one 100% full and in a high risk county and completely surrounded by high risk counties according the CDC. Definitely no reason to even think about mask requirements in the office. lmao. Good point about biking, thanks thread. Guess I'll ride the lovely stationary bike

my work is being stubborn and is basically trying to torpedo my homeschooling plan by insisting that my work schedule isn't nearly as flexible as they first implied. part of the reason they gave was because other people have been quitting and so they need others to fill in the schedule gaps feeling pretty close to going for the nuclear option and just quitting and laughing in their faces as it dawns on them how hosed they are now that most of their staff is loving gone, but goddamn it would be hard to find wfh employment on short notice
