Also, for whoever talked about not needing dental surgery: I had some done a few years ago, and it's probably the one thing I've done with the greatest disconnect between how bad it sounds and how bad it actually was. On the face of it, "we need to cut your gum open to expose the tip of the root of a tooth and clean/disinfect it" sounds horrible - but it was mostly boring, and it healed super fast; I've had a worse time with a normal dentist. The stitches itched a bit, I guess? Modern anaesthesia is great, and I get the feeling the surgeon I had was very competent. (Also a bit of a nerd - we spent some time discussing lab microscopes and his very neat setup for taking pictures while working. They are part of some sort of "graze this area back to how it used to look" project, so there are info signs around the place. The goats are a breed that was common around the coast, but is now almost extinct; this herd is apparently borrowed from another project that's trying to keep the breed alive. In a very typical case of the poetry and innovation of the Norwegian language, the breed is known as the kystgeit - that is, the coast-goat.

Again, boring, but they were doing a retinal scan on some big rear end fancy new machine of theirs and I commented about never sharing retinal scans and IT security, etc and he was like 'whoa we had to firewall off the whole machine and here let me show you how the whole poo poo works, LOOK, here's your whole eye, dude, look, you can use it, we can get one of the techs in here! check it out!" basically just because I sparked up a conversation it was kinda neat.
