yeah the rich people being petty assholes is the theme as is how the more superficially sympathetic rich assholes arent redeemed by mild self awareness the service characters being in thrall to them is also a pretty big point that sailed right over his head like yeah no poo poo they seem underdeveloped in the context of a work setting where they have to constantly pretend like their own desires dont matter
