lol, I watched it years ago and remember enjoying it, but yeah it had a bit of this. My wife picked up the book when it was free on kindle and he only got about a third of the way through it because I guess it's even harder to follow in written form. It's a cool story anyways.

same, all versions are great but I keep forgetting who I think the traitor is

I guess that might be on purpose lol, I haven't had trouble with any other carré

tinker tailor is probably my favorite realistic spy movie, in large part because the cast is so good plus mole hunts are fun [see also bbc miniseries "the game"]. I'd still love an og-style bourne movie that isn't a techno thriller but that's probably never going to happen

computers killed the spy genre

I have a lot of points to make and I will make them later.
Basic functionality like your PDA are wonky in subnautica's VR implementation and it's still super worth playing it that way

to be clear, jon stewart is a loving lib centrist monster, and his protege (colbert) actively damaged whatever shredded remains we had of the democratic process. they can both die and go to hell and suffer eternally as far as i am concerned. maybe they'll find relief somewhere in the middle. yuk more, libfucks. haha trump is orange. suck my loving rear end

He's old, white, well-off and, most shamefully, a former stand-up comedian. Not exactly a plot twist.

yeah, colbert had him on the late show and stewart just dropped a deuce on live-to-tape TV, leaving colbert absolutely gobsmacked

yeah thats fair. i give a lot of centrist liberal poo poo a pass bc frankly when it was new, it was by far the most progressive thing that was on tv/the radio, at least in my flyover neck of the woods. like we'd give him poo poo for not being progressive enough, but we were also a bunch of fuckin syndicalists - i was the weirdo for 'just' being a socialist - and understood that 'the problem is actually capitalism' wasnt compelling to america at large. but frankly "capitalism is the problem" _has_ got some reasonable traction these days so if he's just doing more of the same instead of pushing an actual progressive agenda, that's not great. i am happy to forgive him for past poo poo, but if he's doing the same now that's much more blameworthy. and of course it sounds like he's being a whole new type of terrible, so that's just - yeah, not surprising in hindsight i guess, but here we are

anime is a medium and is not inherently good or bad. I watched eva rebuild 1 and 2 last night, they are so much better from a storytelling perspective than the series holy crap. I still wouldn't recommend them to people who aren't giant nerds but man what a difference
