Huh, weird. I must have been looking at a store brand and been confused. It does taste bad though. Kroger carries sour cream and "real" sour cream right next to each other which is terrible and sad also
Their lower fat sour cream has all sorts of thickeners and poo poo and it's in a tub that looks irritatingly similar, so it might have been that. I had to slog through a quart of that chalky poo poo once and I'm obsessive about reading the labels now.

Best cottage cheese I've ever had without question is from Trader Joes. They've got a weird mix of great and garbage of their own products.

I went to Costco today with my pregnant wife (1 week past due date today!) and I blame this thread for going there. It was my idea, and I impulse bought a GoPro hero 9 and a strip of LED lights that were fun.

Strange how many other things that are actually meant to be eaten and enjoyed aren't having the same problem :colbert:

I found that the milk tea boba popsicles were best as a jump start to a really good, cold bubble tea by dunking them in milk and stirring. Sensitive teeth suck and making a slurry from the popsicle was amazing

Ok now both of you are loving with me, this is their 'Light' sour cream

Especially since you claim to be reading labels, I can assure you both their main sour cream and their light have been this way for many years, as that is the primary reason why whenever we do need sour cream, it's Daisy because we can be assured it's literally cream, maybe some skim milk if we're feeling light.

Regular German style sour cream on German or American food, Mexican or Salvadoran on Mexican food.

You may be thinking of half and half? Some brands of those are fake, which I was shocked to find out after inspecting the ingredients.

Not a fan of Daisy sour cream myself; I think it’s too runny. My favorite is Wallaby but the grocery store I got it from stopped carrying it and I haven’t found it since. RIP

This has always been an ingredient for me, not a condiment. Wallaby sour cream is almost as thick as this, though

Oh yeah buddy let's talk sour cream... and how it's just a lovely version of yogurt or creme fraiche or crema or skyr. Just buy Fage or whatever. Any situation that called for sour cream can be improved immensely by getting a cultured product that's not developed in suburban USAnia. :smug:

On a different note I bought a Costco-sized thing of peanut butter filled pretzels and have been giggling at the fact that they're filled with real "Virginia Peanut Butter" like oh thank GOD this nut butter is from one of the thirteen original colonies. They are delicious when you eat one at a time paired with one (1) fresh raspberry though
