Shiroc posted:I thought he was officially out. Thanks for pointing it out so I could fix it. Aww, I was hoping for some random funny reason for liking one of the more universally disliked dudes. But leaving him off was probably smart since who knows with COVID, I just forgot about his test and was shocked to see him not listed that I didn’t check why. Also I guess it doesn’t matter for the Sanyaku guys since everyone gets pick 1 this time, but as someone who’s tried real hard to keep them, following the rules of dumb gimmick teams is important.

I actually do like Ichinojo enough to have him in my magnet collection. My main beef with him is that he seems like he should be able to be a consistent high maegashira/san'yaku performer but he's in such poo poo conditioning that he relies on being just huge too much. Mitakeumi however was a slam dunk for my top/bottom pick as the active rikishi that I most actually dislike. If he wasn't suspended, Asanoyama would have claimed the spot.

Yeah, he’s just so frustrating as there’s obviously a great wrestler in there if he just gave a poo poo. He’s like opposite Enho where the guy is clearly giving it his all he just doesn’t have the body to do it with the top ranks.

I keep waffling about dropping Tochinoshin. I love the Georgian giant, but M11+ is such a valuable scoring slot on the roster.

This is why gimmick drafting is the best way because when you win you beat people for no reason and when you lose it was based on something entirely arbitrary. Ichinojo more like ichinoGO

Its also why the 2-month (1.5) hiatus after every basho is great because its just enough time for me to forget all the draft choices I made previously and why they were good/bad.

Same, I cook up intricate strategies and plans for my picks based on form and their position in the Banzuke while I'm watching, then by the time the next basho rolls round I'm back to picking who has the best titties. Still great fun though.

Sometimes researching a gimmick team takes more effort than going straight. Every time I see the entry parade during the basho, I want to do a coolest kensho mawashi team, or all the same colour team but by the time the next one roles around I forget who had the cool ones and i don’t feel like clicking on everyone’s pic on https://www.sumo.or.jp/EnHonbashoBanzuke/index/ to see what they wear.

I still have not forgiven Wakatakakage for hanging around my neck like a stupid under-sized albatross in the past basho just because Takayasu had to pull out. I curse his name! An in the spirit of The Secret I am putting it out to the universe that he will go make-koshi in this basho too! If any fan of this charlatan wants to make a toxx bet for this, let me know. If he suddenly finds a winning form again I'd be happy to be probated for a week so I cannot express my thoughts this turn of events.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5X2_xbr6IE Keisho/Hokotofuji is the bout of Day 1 IMO. It's the sternest test possible for Takakeisho's neck. And I always love watching Hokotofuji bulldog his way through a fight, win or lose. Day 2 Takayasu/Takakeisho will show just how serious fuzzbutt is about the title.
