I thought episode 1 was light on humor but episode 2 was pretty funny.

Yeah, episode 2 was much funnier.

I don’t know, I laughed quite a bit. I thought these two episodes were pretty funny. The second episode really shined with the bits with Meg and them pairing up Nandor and Nadia.
And it was fun to see Kayvan Novak really get to show off. And his delivery on “loving guy!” was a pitch-perfect capstone to a great individual performance.

Hot take: I like Matt Berry but I don't like his albums very much (save Kill the Wolf)

His singing voice is wonderful but it also feels like a parody? Which takes me out of it.

If you live in the UK, he does a lot of advert voiceovers. You hear him incredibly often. The endless voiceover bits of Toast are absolutely informed by his work.

I wonder if the cloak stuff came from Kayvan messing about on set and doing impressions of the other cast members.

It reminded me of going to a Red Dwarf panel, but Craig Charles and Danny John-Jules weren’t there so Chris Barrie answered as them, and it was amazing.

I enjoyed it and think it's nice to have a comedy in my TV line-up again. I realised a few weeks ago that nearly everything I've streamed in the last year is some variation of dystopian horror or sci-fi, which I love but also kind of get to me after a while...

I really like his music for insomniacs ambienty album, but aside from the snuff box songs nothing else he's done really does anything for me. Like good on him for releasing a novelty album of 70s sitcom themes, but he did nothing interesting with them, and his own stuff often sounds like b-sides from that era.

She's served every other vampire counsel for generations, you don't live that long and see that much poo poo go down without learning how to catch a stake thrown at you by some plucky young vampire hunter.

She's probably one of the most powerful vampires we've seen on the show.

Although I don't think she's a shadow ruler, the vibes I got from her are more that she's like Lazlo and the reason she's not ruling is because she's not interested in that. She's The Guide, she enjoys her job and she's good at her job and that's what she wants to spend the rest of her unlife doing for eternity.

I didn't notice that - that's great! I also didn't notice the actor playing Gail, but neither did my wife, so that's more a testament to Turturro than it is another tragic case of Goon Face Blindness

Derrick Beckles as Anton seems like "friend of someone on the show" casting since he doesn't do a lot of acting.
