They gave it a 8.5/10, and said that the game is really beautiful, the best the combat mechanics have ever been, a good story, and the difficulty spikes really high especially on the bosses. Even on Normal this is a pretty hard game.

Seeing the Gamespot review and they try and make it breaking news that Tales of games offer dumb XP-boosting DLC and other DLC poo poo and I'm just looking at it like, yeah. Yeah they've been doing that for a while now like....fifteen or sixteen years now? That doesn't make it better or at all good in any way it's just, yeah that's been a thing for a while don't think you're uncovering a conspiracy.

Vesperia was probably one of the earliest games in the whole industry to do it

Technically it still is (the game is divided into 5 chapters plus a bonus prequel episode that comes out on the 30th) but everything’s just being released all at once this time.
