Check out the full video. it’s like 30 minutes of Saget talking about Norm, and you can tell how much he loved Norm and what kind of guy Norm was from the perspective of one of his closest friends. Very touching.

Conan just put out an episode of his podcast where he's just talking about Norm. Saget's thing was better because they were very close and his words were intimate but Conan is a good listen as well. He said Norm was by far the most requested person by fans to have on his podcast. They repeatedly tried to get him on and he never understood until now why he never did it.

If I fall, you don't get the head, right? If you lose the head, you're fucked!

His bit as Burt Reynolds on SNL was the funniest part of that skit in it's history. His brand of comedy was so good, such an unfortunate loss for his friends, family, and comedy as a whole. :(

Rest in peace Turd Furgeson, it was truly a funny name.

Saw Hasan Minhaj Saturday early show at Chicago Thearter, dude gave the single most polished act I think I've ever seen, both in Mulaney-style 'I tell this joke exactly precisely the best possible way' , and in tempo, dramatic act structure, etc. Damned funny too - I assumed he had special taping coming up Real Soon but wow, he's doing the same show until MAY.

Hannibal was the surprise middle, and while we all know he could do anything in Chicago and kill, but I'm not sure what the hell he was doing, he sure wasn't working out a conventional act. Maybe it would have been funnier if I was closer to the stage. Rapping to a harp sounds funny in concept but didn't even work in a standard anti-comedy way, at least in that venue.

OK now I'm imagining something like the Eric Andre show live in the Chicago Theater with a bunch of people that came to see something else and drat that sounds funny. Maybe he was amused, I dunno.

The clips I've seen of Eric's live show seem like a cross between the TV show and the crowd work he did on his Netflix special (the best part, imo)

of a full load.

Isn't that 3 in a row that he's done this poo poo?

The special where he talks about getting flak about "saying the word human being!" was where he started to lose me. There was something very offputting about the way he yelled it that just didn't sit right. I know he was going for the "they won't silence me" type thing, but it just came across with such vitriol.

Then the whole alphabet bit followed that. Like just leave it alone, it's not even funny.

I went to the first live Eric Andre Show and it was a great mix of laughing at the show and fearing for my personal safety because Eric would occasionally start screaming and tearing through the audience. Got to see the George Clooney impersonator and the bit where he brings out doubles of himself/Hannibal/the guest before any of them appeared on the TV show. Most chaotic live event I've ever attended, highly recommended.

There's something specific that bothers me about this aside from the vitriol he spews at marginalized people, which is bad enough on its own, obviously.

Dave is a person who in the past has made fun of people who use the "I have a black friend, ergo I can't be racist" defence. And you should! It's a ludicrous statement.

Yet he thought nothing of using the "My trans friend laughed!" defence after the last time this came up. And now he's just straight up not even attempting to mask it anymore.

I mean, I get it, he has way more in common with a wealthy white billionaire than he does any given person of color under his income bracket. I'm sure he thinks that the regular folks should care more but it isn't an issue that hurts him in the same way that 'it's possible for this rich person to get called a piece of poo poo' does.

I think he can hear you, Ray.
His bit about DaBaby was so dumb. He killed someone in self defence, and it happened before he released his first song. If you're ok with that and still support his music then fine, but that has nothing to do with Gay people not being ok with his homophobia. Chances are a lot of people didn't even know he had killed someone until he was in the news for being dumb.

People want to claim it's a comedy show, but it was more like a lecture. And if you're going to lecture people, at least be right

You were supposed to take those out of the deck.
Chappelle and Matt Taibbi are the two biggest public figures I used to hold in high esteem until recently, both have apparently gone through the same broke-brained process that has led them to think "woke establishment liberals" are the social cancer that needs to be destroyed. It seems to be a combination of them getting older and taking on board bad faith conservative talking points, as well as viewing Trump/the right as too obvious a joke or something?

I’m not sure Taibbi was ever someone to hold in high esteem, to be honest.

Saw Jim Jefferies last night, he touched upon Chapelle but held back from saying anything and more used it as a springboard into a gag himself.

unless I missed another one where he tried to get faux dramatic to make up for the fact he had like three jokes in his comedy special it's 'the trans friend I use as a shield to justify my stupid jokes killed herself and I'm not saying trans people being angry about my jokes made her do it buuuuut', which was pretty quickly refuted by multiple people who knew her who said Dave had very little actual relationship with her, did nothing to reach out when she died or anything, and she was going through multiple major things long before his special came out.
