How do you not see those dudes and assume at least Supervillain even if you don't recognize Dr. Doom specifically for some reason.

Bring me the head of Auguste Escoffier.
For every useful supergroup in the Marvel universe, there must be heaps of lovely Great Lakes Avengers level outfits. And similarly lovely villains.

The average person would be more likely to see the latter day-to-day, so you'd probably assume you could safely sass 99.9% of colourfully costumed people.

Also, Fancy Cleopatra would be a fantastic c-level hero (or villain) name. Probably more a DC name, though.

And he doesn't wear extremely recognizable armor and regularly commit terrorist attacks against the United States. Not knowing who Doom is would be like not recognizing Donald Trump.

Kang I'll give them since he rarely acts publicly. Though he has taken over world wide broadcasts to make demands, that happens every week or so in the Marvel universe so even if they remember him they might think he's Magneto or something. Doom, OTOH, has to be the most recognizable person on earth.

Yeah but who hasn't done that? You probably can't remember the number of people who've taken over the world and destroyed Washington DC in the Marvel universe.

Would you really, though? If you saw Kim Jong Un on the side of a rural road in the back country of the United States with no one else around, would you actually think "Yeah, that's the absolute dictator of a sovereign nation" and not "Is it Halloween already?"

I used to work in a casino, and once back of house, I saw a bunch of security escorting a short, scraggly old guy with long hair. I'd thought at the time that that Alice Cooper impersonator had seen better times...

Did you know Alice Cooper is pretty short IRL?

Yeah if I didn't live near a major metropolitan area like NYC where all the super-bullshit in DC/Marvel is always happening and I saw one of the major villains just hanging around my neck of the woods my mind would probably jump to "wow, that's a drat good costume"* before I went "poo poo IT'S DOOM, RUN!"

I mean, I still wouldn't antagonize them because even if they're cosplayers or something, if you see a dude just randomly wearing a full set of armor on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere? That's not a person I'd want to get too close to.

*since Doom seems to fluctuate between "benevolent dictator" and "madman who wears human skin armor" depending on who's writing him, my mind would also go "wow that's kinda tasteless" but still wouldn't jump to that's the real actual Dr. Doom

well that entire doom series ended on a real stupid, but in character note though. Doom goes to a universe where Doom is successful in everything he does, and he took it personally and aimed the ultimate nullifier at it

My hometown doesn't have the ecosystem to support a supervillain. People don't visit here, they pass through to somewhere more interesting. Like if I saw Doctor Doom or whatever I'd assume he was lost, and give him directions. Bridge to the US is this way, take a left, Toronto is that way, can't miss it, there's a sign.

If I was driving and Doom needed my aid to get to the truck stop, I would just go ahead and help out Doom. I'm pretty sure the Avengers would agree that I made the right call.

No, that's never been how it's worked. It can destroy the user, but only if the person's mind isn't focused and powerful enough. The ability of the Ultimate Nullifier is completely dependent on who uses it. If someone of a lesser mind uses it they can use to take out maybe like one person if they're focused on it. If someone with a powerful mind uses it they can do much more damage. The more powerful the mind the more powerful the damage. But if they're not fully focused on what they're doing it destroys them too.
