This summer was my first experience with any of the SMT games, a franchise which I've only vaguely been aware of until now, so I decided to check this out. It was goddamn great, the Scooby-Doo vibe owns, easily one of the most fun games I've ever played. I think I played and beat Mother 3 earlier this year so I was used to buff/debuff strategies to win, so that helped. I'll be going through Nocturne next and probably trying P3 after that. I love this game.

I think the final boss is an all timer. Not the hardest or best boss mechanically in the game but thematically it works so well as it goes more berserk and spews out more of the infection as it progresses. Then it starts trying to stab itself to try and destroy the radiance as it decays. All works so well

Cute, short game. Beating it unlocked a bunch more optional objectives in every level, so I might play it a little longer depending on how annoying the new objectives are.

Rad as hell, final level was kinda bs starting off with two mini bosses at the same time, and the final boss is pretty nasty, but a ton of fun to blast through in an hour.

Part 1 was mediocre but Part 2 was really really good. Some of the segments were maybe a bit too long, and I never did like the Sholme's Deduction segments due to having to watch the same sequence twice in a row. The final witness breakdown was top tier.

this is probably the best I've ever done at, whatever this type of game is
it has a nice smooth learning curve ala Don't Starve where you figure poo poo out just from playing
I restarted like 3 times, not out of frustration, just like "ok I could have done this way better"

I could probably keep improving, there's a lot of micromanaging that I'm pretty sure I could fully automate, but gently caress it, Psychonauts 2 awaits

Yoku's Island Express - Not normally a fan of "metroidvania" style games but I enjoyed this one. Nice environments to explore, great character design. I wish the pinball sections had been a little more challenging though.

1. The Artful Escape [XSX via Game Pass] (100% Complete - All Achievements)

Took me about 3 hours to beat. I'm annoyed by games that way over stay their welcome so it's nice to play a game that was exactly as long as it needed to be. No real gameplay outside of some very light platforming and a bit of Simon Says. It's basically a teen coming of age film in the form of an indie-game. Space opera aesthetic. Carl Weathers as a voice actor.

This would be a terrible $20 purchase. But perfect as a Game Pass game.
