Yeah your fingers would have to be eight inches long or something.

Also, what would be the point? Different tunings? Ringing out open strings on the one neck while shredding on the other one?

Oh JFC it's an entire product line, made solely for tapping.

Your home for ergonomic guitars and basses for tapping!

These Guitars are for any "standard technique" guitarists who also want to extend their tapping techniques.

Having two identical fretboards opens up thousands of new possibilities for chords, chord-melody, double melody, power chords, shred/leads ideas and all kinds of other techniques! In other words, it's an extension of the electric guitar, simulating two instruments as one.

Imagine paying $1850 plus tax for a headless guitar that has pokey bits of string sticking out the end.

so... guess that's it, huh? just... don't say i didn't warn you.
Should it bother me as much as it does that anytime some demonstration of this kind of guitar smacking comes up on youtube it's always someone who doesn't mute the camera mic sitting right in front of the fretboard that picks up every hit so vastly different from how the pickups would react to that?

I couldn't imagine paying $1800+ for a big-dick prog tapping guitar that's not a brand with decades of development behind it like a Chapman Stick or Warr Guitar.

Why not just get a Chapman Stick? I'm not disparaging, but just from these clips the setup seems
extraneous.

Well I found it browsing Ichika Nito's channel, and that guy doesn't play guitar. He just thinks music and his hands do it. It's sickening but I'm fascinated by everything he plays. Apparently "math rock" is another thing I'm totally unaware of but I love the guy's approach to melody and harmony and I don't even try to understand the technique. It goes against everything a simple guy like me can find approachable.

And no, I can not call the guy stupid anything. I don't know his story, I just think he is some kind of music incarnate.

Yeah this was exactly my first thought -- I've given my 11mo a bunch of instruments to play with, mostly percussion, and now when I pull out the ukulele he'll sometimes do something like this video.

I did not even know these were a thing. But apparently Chapman Sticks start at $2800 and Warr Guitars start at $3800, so $1800 is "cheap"...

I'll admit that once in a while I smack the upper horn on my bass and listen to the strings rattle. I don't pretend that it has any musical merit or any merit at all really. Rumbly noise go drrrr I guess.

I forget what were the costs of Jared Dines and Stevie T's djent guitars back when they were doing one-upmanship on number of strings? I wonder how those custom costs compare to the regular models we've been discussing. That was quite stupid in retrospect, I think it ended at 24 strings, but I'm pretty sure both guitars eventually were sold for charity, so some good came of it.

Stupid poo poo music can be made without any stupid music poo poo though? Nickelback doesn't strike me as having anything stupid in their setup, they're just bland and dumb without any dumb fun djentsticks.

But tapping guy sounds like muzak that would be completely unimpressive on a piano or played by a duo. It's like that guy researching parallel universes in Super Mario 64, incredible amounts of work and effort for essentially no payoff.

Yeah that crystal frets video was rough. I was expecting the discussion at the end to be something like "yeah we found that crystal is really hard and doesn't wear down like normal metals used for most frets" or something but nope. It was just energy, "this guitar has a soul now and crystals are magic ahahaha COOL" talk. Wonderful.

Also I too like to dial in my "ambient" delays to be at least as loud as my dry signal. Really clears things up.
