I got a Keqing 10 pulls into this banner, so I've got a guaranteed on banner 5* on my next pull. I am ambivalent about Kokomi, and as far as the upcoming rumoured banners go don't really care for Childe, but might go for Hu Tao. I think I'll try a wee bit more for some of the 4*s on this banner because I'd love now Rosaria and XQ constellations and if I get Kokomi in the next 10 pulls in not that bothered.

tbf my issue isnt so much them giving a streamer a bunch of freebies to promote the game or it somehow being related to the anniversary stuff, its that basically paying a guy to promote the game and then telling him not to tell anyone is kinda scummy. Like it's basically a sponsored ad only he isn't telling you it's an ad, right? idk. i dont care at all if mihoyo wants to give him free gems to splurge on some banners or another and dude'd whale regardless because whaling is his full time job but 'btw im rolling thanks to mihoyo's generosity' or whatever feels more honest

I did the theatre thing and it was kind of funny to see it talk about all the things your character hasn't done yet while your MC looks completely bored of the whole affair. Kind of fits perfectly into my overall play experience once I became progression-blocked and couldn't continue the story past the Liyue introduction and didn't feel like doing jumping puzzles for 1/16th of a single pull anymore. It's no surprise that the game's anniversary is turning out the way it is. Oh well, maybe next year?

There are plenty of low-key whales in this very thread who have dropped non-trivial cash money on this game and yet still don't have every rare. Also, the abyss is purely bait for easy marks and shouldn't factor into any conversation about f2p vs non-f2p value in the game. Full-clearing Abyss 12 is an extra 3 pulls every couple weeks and is mostly a sloggy DPS check, it's not particularly valuable nor particularly good content. The real game is the story quests and the overworld stuff, and all of that is easily clearable as a f2p, give or take some annoying late-game artifact grind that everyone has to endure. i watched a video of a guy full clearing abyss 12 recently with a hand full of 4 star characters and weapons (not even 4 characters per team) without much trouble and it really made me wonder how good any of these 5 stars really are.

I mean I think this thread is too much of a hugbox. There's so much easy poo poo mhy could do to make the game better that they just don't. Geo chars constructs are pretty essential for them, but half the time they just don't work. Alt sprints bugging out. No endgame content other than abyss. Their char balance being bad since yoimiya (I know this is controversial but I wanted to slip it in) The thign is "giveaways" literally don't cost them anything. A 5* standard banner isn't something that you can pay for, it's totally random to get. That alone would mollify the player base without cutting into their profit margin. And that's what it's all about. Genshin is a manipulative tool for sperating people from their money. They've made over a billion dollars. A 5* limited you pay for costs about 200$. People don't like the feeling of being squeezed for money, and it's increasingly obvious that's how mhy regards the players. I haven't played honkai but I heard the community dev relations are much better there. I just don't understand why anyone would defend mhy. They've given me enjoyment, but I gave them about 100$ over the course of the year. Others have given them thousands. It's exploitative and it's going to be a never ending conflict. It's not good for the game to be so dismissive towards it's players. Now it's hosed because even if they do give anything, it'll be in response to the controversy and beget more controversy. If they don't give anything, I bet a ton of people will leave. Especially since after the next patch we'll probably enter a "content" drought for a few months.

personally I don't care about "defending" mihoyo so much but I do care that basically every social area around the game is/was being polluted by insane complaining based on the game not living up to stuff people cooked up in their heads. the other obvious and extant issues are another matter but keep getting tied to this huge stupid rallying point of the anniversary shockingly the surveys do work for having input heard, within the realms of what they actually want to address/adjust, and accounting for the fact they're already going to be deep in their existing content plans when having to fit in changes based on feedback

Defending or bashing Mihoyo, the company, is equally pointless within this thread because they're not reading it and nothing we say here matters, so the only real measure of value is whether something makes for interesting or helpful conversation. "I wish they gave us more free poo poo and it would cost them nothing to do so" is both non-controversial and obviously true, but it also doesn't really fit either of those criteria. So who cares, let's talk about the game instead.

It would be stupid simple to program a room like Abyss but instead of ending in a loving nanosecond it just keeps spawning progressively harder enemies. Doesn't even need rewards, just a leaderboard. I've been asking for something like it in the surveys since Klee's first banner, along with a toggle for constellations. I used to pull for every character, but the lack of places to use them just makes me not give a poo poo anymore. I'm going full casual.

Do certain artifact sets drop less often than others and do certain stats roll at higher rates? I did about 25 condensed resin worth of lv 90 pyro witch set domains, and I prob got a 3:1 resistance set to pyro dam set ratio. And literally not a single "usable" piece in like 20 or so. Every single piece has like 3 def/HP/flat atk stats
