In real countries, dollar stores sell things for one Euro or more.

We used to have a 1€ store (I think another one near a shopping centre outside of the city) for a few years maybe, and like half the stuff there I literally literally didn't know what it was for. I asked a friend to come with me just in case I'm just really ignorant, and they didn't know what all that poo poo was, either. But I did buy some nail clippers for a euro so it was cool while it lasted.

I took my kids to dollar tree like three years ago and they already had an entire special section of stuff that was over $1 so what is changing

When I was living in NYC there were a bunch of lovely 5-below esque stores in midtown. They all had weirdly similar names like Jack's World that somehow conveyed that they were basically a dollar store but for more than a dollar. Best name I can remember was the Everything $1 Or More Or Less store.

In another high-profile boar incident, a wild pig stole a laptop from a man sunbathing nude in Berlin. The nudist successfully pursued the boar and her two piglets and recovered his laptop, though not before having his picture snapped.

I can understand that they wanted to eat Shakira's child, but what were they going to do with the laptop? They just keep getting bolder.

Trump and Boris Johnson once spent a considerable part of a meeting discussing how strong kangaroos are, book says

I can totally see that. Those two fell from the same hosed up apple tree.

Talking about how strong kangaroos are is one of the most human things I've ever heard about them. But they really buried the lede: quote:"'Can you put a new gallbladder in?' Johnson asked, chomping away on scrambled eggs and sausage. 'I don't know what a gallbladder does,'" she wrote.

I can still remember how much it sucked when my gallbladder got infected and had to be removed and I'd gladly go through that again if it resulted in a world without those two motherfuckers.

Furries Realllllly Hate Lindsay Lohan’s Furry NFTquote:Part of the reason some furries aren’t happy about Lohan’s NFT is because of the demonstrable negative environmental effects of crypto art in general, due to the high level of carbon dioxide emissions generated by cryptocurrency transactions. “A lot about the design actually seems to be made so they can quickly swap out colors and such which makes sense given the nature of NFTs,” says Kaide, a furry 3Dartist, adding that he finds the art of “middling quality.” Kaide says he believes the artwork is lower quality because many furry artists would receive backlash if they took an NFT commission: “Most of the top tier furry artists and furries at large (but not all) stand against NFTs due to the environmental impact of them.”

Lohan's furry NFT looks more like a paper doll designed to have things easily swapped than an original artwork.

There's been lots of cases of people selling nfts of art they didn't make and don't own rights to. No faster way to make someone hate an entire concept than to use it to undermine their livelihood

I think I'm clearly parsing this wrong, because otherwise this is absolutely insane. Woman in her 30s was left screaming in agony after the fire burnt most of her body, waist and legs and hospital that uses robots to carry out surgery The fire burnt down most (or at least part) of the bloody hospital, and the headline is focusing exclusively on the woman's burns ?

Good news everyone, it's the Daily Mirror, they don't print anything true if they don't have to. Here's the original article. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/hospital-patient-seriously-burnt-after-9167044 Notice how the only source for the news story is a dead link? It's a common theme for these types of articles to come from China or Japan since they can't be verified as easily by your average British chap.
