I hope the disco-future era klingons are once again distinct from their appearances on TOS, TNG, Disco, and Disco Again A Little Later. Klingons are the warrior race who radically later appearances sometimes and nobody talks about it.

Sign me up for a Galaxy-class backpack which has a velcro-detachable upper section, for when you want to haul less stuff around, such as into combat.

Give us every Klingon design at once in a single scene. Smooth boys, ridged, disco, JJ, TAS or Lower Decks cartoons animated into the shot Roger Rabbit style. No explanation.

When in doubt, err on the side of Awesome!

They really should have just put Dorn in the old school TOS makeup when they beamed over to the space station and had no one comment on it.

I really loved that opening note of the LDS theme. It’s the same note TNG uses before Picard starts talking, and it just screams Trek to me.

Also all the BoBW music reuse on the Borg segments last week was great.

Also that RITOS T-shirt is definitely going to be the Titmouse tee of the week.

Lower Decks often opens with the same kind of extended notes that TNG/DS9/VOY would open with and it makes me really nostalgic. Not always that exact one but there was a certain type of opening background sound that just was part of the whole experience. No idea what instrument/combination of instruments it was but it was very distinct. Go start up any episode and there's about a 90% chance it'll be there and you'll recognise it right away.

I think part of it's the music notes being overlaid with the general ship background hummmmmm.

Something I reckon they could do with "later" Star Trek era shows like Lower Decks, etc, is get some more Klingons in the Federation and Starfleet, but explicitly the non-warrior ones. The Warriors are still dickish allies that want to do to their own thing, but give the other professions a bit more screentime by having a bunch of them decide to get away from the Warriors and go someplace they'll actually be respected for what they do.

Wait, have they been flying in a giant Doritos this whole time!

First they change Klingons to look like space orks, then they change a Doritos to look like a starfleet ships!

New Trek stop randomly changing the look of everything, I don't like it!!!!!!

Reminds me a bit of the first t-shirt club shirt from last year, which I would've gotten if I didn't live in the antipodes.

I like when you can get nondescript but theoretically in-universe clothes.

The ENT people occasionally using the NX-01 caps was great too.

Eh, it's pretty common for naval personnel to have casual clothes with their ship's name embroidered. There's a whole 'ship pride' thing that still fits well in trek.

Eh, Lower Decks episodes get better the more Mariner is pushed into the background/supporting cast, this season has really demonstrated that. They can't fundamentally change the character but I hope they use this one to officially dial her down a couple of notches.

Reading this first Picard novel and maybe the story of the Romulan Rescues that actually tells us about all these characters and their motivations would be more interesting and less jarring than the weird Robot Cthulhu story that they gave us.
