Roberson was a 4 star with a bunch of P5 offers, he'd have been the best Iowa quarterback recruit in decades. It's not like they had to put in a walk on or something

Also he's been in the program for 3 years. You need to be ready by that point.

Literally every current ohio state QB is a freshman.

Like half of the problem was that it took almost a half to figure out how to get the snap off without a false start.

Geez, you'd think a team that likes to have the reputation of having a super loud stadium would have it on their radar to figure out how to play in someone else's loud stadium, but here we are.

The official account of NFL Tackle Phil Loadholt.

Let's talk Football.
Seeing Penn state fans complaining about Iowa fans is delightful. Specifically the part where they complain about “that’s the type of men this program is building” when referring to the one Iowa coach “flopping.”

Ahem, maybe Penn State folks shouldn’t raise such a big stink about institutional control problems.

The booing injured guys things seems dumb because it's not like Iowa runs tempo so why would they need to slow us down, but it was also really hard not to notice how many of them were only out for a play and how it kept happening on every single big play. Someone ran the numbers and Iowa was averaging like 3 yards per play overall but over 14 yards per play on plays immediately before Penn State took an injury timeout, which is weird! Also, I mean...

A thing happened once or twice and now whenever an opposing team's player gets injured it's because of that. Fans aren't very clever.

It does still happen now and then but not that often

Well that feels like ignoring what I posted!

Fans didn't know the exact yards per play but they can see that it happened a bunch of times after Iowa had gained 10+ yards and only seemed to be happening then, it's a big difference from what our offense normally does. Again I don't know why Penn State would do that against Iowa of all teams maybe they're doing it against faster teams and just kept doing to anyway out of habit or maybe it's just coincidence. I would not have booed personally because I don't really want to boo an actual injured kid and it's not like it was really hurting what Iowa wants to do. And obviously some of the injuries were real and costly for PSU. But it's still hard not to notice when so many if them were the "lay down until you get to the timeout then jump up, run to the sideline, and come back a play later" variety and when all of those happened right after a big play.

Going into the year without an idea for "what happens when it's too loud to hear clapping" when you play at Camp Randall, Kinnick, and Ohio Stadium seems like a bad idea. This might have been the loudest I have heard kinnick but it's not exactly shocking that it would get very loud and rowdy there.

This is like the second intentional safety in the 6-4 game in that it definitely only happened because Kirk Ferentz is incredibly bad at math and game theory but it's much funnier to imagine it as a "gently caress you, you're not moving the ball" to the opposing offense.

People forget that Clifford was pretty decent in 2019 and won a NY6 bowl.

His transformation this year under Yurcich is reminiscent of McGloin under Bill O'Brien. If he's back by Ohio State there's still a chance. I don't think anyone would have predicted the passing game would be unstoppable and the run game non-existent before this season.

Yes, it choose to live in the timeline where Ferentz just slipped another stick of gum into his mouth and said to himself "All according to keikaku."

Then he leaned over to the ref and said "Keikaku means plan."

I think the last one in particular was pretty galling. Penn State's corner was just sitting up with his legs in front of him, the trainers didn't appear to check or ambulate any limbs, he gets up and trots off, back in two plays. Even Kirk was yelling at the refs for that one. Probably telling them they needed to assess a timeout.

And ya, getting lectured about anything by Penn State fans is more than I'm willing to take.

Wake beating Reggie Ball 9-6 in the 2006 ACCCG in front of tens of fans is one of the more underrated football viewing experiences of this calendar century.

Kayak is true
If this season's playoffs is some ridiculous Iowa/Wake/Cincinatti/Kentucky thing, I'm there for it.

Meanwhile, Texas Tech is going to finish the season 4-8 with a loss to Kansas next week.

I've been slacking on my utterly bewildering habit of watching Kansas football this year, are they looking anything more like a team does anyone know?

I see they scored some points against Coastal and Duke, which they maybe might not have done before. But I'm guessing most of those points came in garbage time?
