Chie Koishikawa VS Masa Takanashi VS Rekka (Debut!)

The Taiwanese Representative, Rekka!

“Too Much Energy” Chie Koishikawa is the MVP of Season 9 and an incredibly dangerous (in a good way) competitor. It is truly odd to think that the “Ace of the Fourth Generation” wasn't present for the first few seasons...but she is now! She is the Frantic Fencer, a speed based striker that favors alternative knuckle chops and nimbleness. Chie has a mysterious dark side and a spirit that will not be broken! Her technique keeps sharpening, with flashy moves that are even attracting new eyes to the promotion. The future of Gatoh Move is very bright. She is out to prove that the wrestling world isn't ready for her brand of extreme speed... but Chie Koishikawa will be a major name some day, mark my words! (Assuming she doesn't destroy the Chocolate Square first with her shenanigans...) Will she be able to pull out a victory in this three way match?

The Drunken Monkey, Masahiro Takanashi, had a fairly strong last season! One half of Calamari Drunken Kings (with Chris Brookes), Masa re-established himself in Ichigaya and has even resumed his role as the President of Gatoh Move...given the state of general affairs in ChocoPro, this is not an enviable position! This wild brawler with a fascinating unique style that includes fighting game-esque fancy footwork (and a deep appetite for alcohol) is one of the most exciting combatants to watch! The Counter-Fighter is able to stop even the most trustworthy of signature moves, so Chie and Rekka had better prepare for anything. Can Chie make up for her previous mistakes and overcome this trickster...and how will the debut factor into this equation?

The flame of Rekka (I wonder if he knows this reference too, given his twitter) appears in ChocoPro! I've honestly expected this one to debut for a very long time, given his connections to many of the faces that usually run the place. (Get well soon, Champ!) Trained by Gurukun Mask, this 18 year veteran has been making a name for himself in DDT, Freedoms, and even GLEAT! (Good luck, fka Rin Rin!) With a unique look and a well balanced move set, Rekka should be able to take to the ChocoPro style like a fish to water. It is very exciting to have a representative of Taiwan, continuing ChocoPro's global reach! Will Rekka prove himself to be the hot new flame in Ichigaya, or will he burn out against these two constant rivals?

Best Bros (Mei Suruga & Baliyan Akki) VS ???? Comaneci (Tokiko “Otoki” Kirihara & Antonio Honda)

The Return of White Comaneci!?

Right there! The Best Bros have a mystery challenge before them! It makes sense that the danger levels will increase until the weight of those belts is simply too much...Baliyan Akki, the Zephyr of Ichigaya and Ace of the Promotion, is as talented as they come. With breezy strike combos, effortless high flying, flowing submissions, and a mane of wild hair, Akki makes a great first impression on every new viewer. He's even appearing on DDT now! What heights will this technical master reach? There is no ceiling in sight! His partner, “Big Apple” Mei Suruga, loves her tag belts almost as much as she loves snacks! She might be a Giant Slayer, but it isn't Giants she is facing this time! (It might be Angels, or Ruffians, or something even worse!) A trick pin specialist, submission expert, and all around goblin, Mei seems to have skill and experience well beyond the years she has spent in pro-wrestling so far. They have dealt with the Comaneci team before...but what incarnation is coming this time?

The last time we saw them, Black Comaneci had been reborn as White Comaneci (Antonio Honda & Tokiko “Otoki” Kirihara)! While they may or may not have the blessing of Frank Gotch, the villains only looked like Angels. How will they show up this time? (Expect something absurd here...) Antonio Honda is the Master of Black...well, actually I suppose he'd be the Master of White now! A cunning prankster & Storyteller that bends the rules of reality (and the match!) with ease, Anton's jokes tend to take on a more violent nature when he pairs with Otoki! While he might be dismissed (by fools) for his comedic antics...Anton is a phenomenal wrestler, in great shape, and is able to go at a pace that few can match when he needs to. Don't be fooled by his heavenly songs! Tokiko “Otoki” Kirihara is the Master of Comaneci. (At least that part never changes!) The Super Rookie of the Fourth Generation is already known for her brutality and ability to match up with those above her in status, but adding in a delight for cheating and assisting in Anton's mischief makes her even more dangerous! Otoki's arsenal of Comaneci style submissions keeps getting deeper, and her throws and kicks are even able to shake the Ace (as we have seen in the past!). Expect the unexpected here...who knows what is going to show up to Ichigaya!

Super Asia Championship Number 1 Contender's Match

Yuna Mizumori VS Choun Shiryu

Who will be the Challenger? Fairy vs Dragon!

TROPICAL YAHHO! Yuna Mizumori is the “Tropical Fairy, Yunamon”, a vibrant character with intense power and shocking nimbleness. While she might not have been able to bring down the team of Saki Akai & Rina Yamashita (can you blame her?) with Mei, Yuna is still on a hot streak! She didn't get her Super Asia Title match last season (again: Get well soon, Minoru Fujita! We all miss you) but this Sing Song Lariat Machine has been adding more and more of the technique to her toolkit...watch out for that descending variant! Yunamon is a charisma volcano, it is impossible not to be swept up in her passion for pro-wrestling! You'll find the Tropical energy rushing through you as she builds up to her high power skills. This Super Power Fighter puts on some of the best matches in ChocoPro! There is a reason she is considered one of the “Big Three”. Yuna Mizumori has already earned her shot at the Super Asia Champ, but now she must defend it against the other currently rising force within Ichigaya...

Choun Shiryu
is the Dragon of Ichigaya. He brings with him an explosive intensity and unbound creativity that few possess. even Akki admits that he believes him to be among the best in the world! When he isn't showing off his in ring (and in square) IQ (by pulling off window assisted jackknife pins and coffin drops on to tables & chairs!), his lighter-than-air movements and brutal alternative strikes are a positively flashy affair. Choun's Kung Fu inspired move set makes all of his matches must watch, because it is nothing like you've seen before. He somehow makes every match look like a fight scene from a Jackie Chan movie (his idol!) with his expertise in motion and punishment...especially his last chaotic bout with Masa and wild match with the Ace! Both the annual battle and the bout with Akki ended with Choun standing tall. The Dragon now hunts even bigger game: the Super Asia Champion! But in order to battle Fujita, he will have to take out Yunamon (who is first in line for a shot!) Can the Kung Fu Specialist pull off another flashy victory? Will he be able to keep up with the Tropical Storm? The battle ahead is a grim one. As Choun would say, ”So what?”! Remember...”Don't think. Feel!”

What twists and turns will Season 10 hold? Let's go Yunamon!

CDK vs Golden Dragon?

CDK (Chris Brookes & Masa Takanashi) VS Tokiko “Otoki” Kirihara & Choun Shiryu

CDK! CDK! CDK! The drunken pair of unruly degenerates, Calamari Drunken Kings (Chris Brookes & Masa Takanashi), return to Ichigaya once again! While Chris Brookes has been one of the regular stars of the promotion (even winning MVP for a season) Masa Takanashi has only recently returned from injury. He's been making up for lost time by putting in hard work and consistently great matches! Chris is making big moves elsewhere: the Tsundere Submission Specialist even challenged for the top title of DDT (in a wonderful match, go check out it out on wrestleUNIVERSE! There is a deal right now for four months for the price of one, its very English friendly!) Those long limbs and devious tactics lead to some of the coolest wrestling you'll find in the world. Masa on the other hand is mostly back into the swing of things, but he's already proven why he is a pillar of DDT and Gatoh Move! That swaying style, the speed of his counters, his over the top antics! He is currently aiming for the Super Asia Championship! This is one of the deadliest teams that the promotion has on tap, so isn't it a coincidence that the Best Bros will be on the same show (again)...Expect the usual lot of natural synergy and eye catching combinations. They'll be taking on a first time pairing that will be quite brutal!

Golden Dragon!? The pairing of Golden Six-Pack, Tokiko “Otoki” Kirihara, and the Dragon of ChocoPro, Choun Shiryu, is a chaotic combination! Otoki has raw power in spades, that is why she is the Super Rookie of the Fourth Generation. She also has the secret power of Comaneci, a comedic call out that she has turned into her battle cry. The brutal Showa Era dancer of ChocoPro has really been improving at a shocking rate! She recently appeared on GanPro as well (against Yunamon), so she's starting to make waves in the wrestling world. Her rage and martial arts prowess have carried her this far, and now she has a Kung Fu master to help her maintain discipline. Choun Shiryu has been on a meteoric rise. The Dragon is currently hunting the biggest game: the Super Asia Champion! But before that, he will have the task of pairing with Otoki and bringing down one of his longest rivals: Masa! Is he worried? No! As Choun would say, ”So what?”! He brings with him an explosive intensity and unbound creativity that few possess. Choun's Kung Fu inspired move set makes all of his matches must watch, because it is nothing like you've seen before. This bout should be incredibly flashy and unpredictable!

A Pair of Heroes! Can the Champs survive?

Best Bros (Mei Suruga & Baliyan Akki) VS Chie Koishikawa & Sawasdee Kamen

Right there! The Best Bros continue their dominance of the Tag Division! While Chie is a frequent foe of the team, what danger will this unknown combo present? It makes sense that the risk levels will increase until the weight of those belts is simply too much...Baliyan Akki, the Zephyr of Ichigaya and Ace of the Promotion, is as talented as they come. With breezy strike combos, effortless high flying, flowing submissions, and a mane of wild hair...Akki makes a great first impression on every new viewer. What heights will this technical master reach? There is no ceiling in sight! (Akki is appearing in DDT & GanPro, so keep an eye on wrestleUNIVERSE!) His partner, “Big Apple” Mei Suruga, loves her tag belts almost as much as she loves snacks! She might be a Giant Slayer, but can she slay a pair of heroes? (I think we all know the answer here.) A trick pin specialist, submission expert, and definitely not a goblin, Mei seems to have skill and experience well beyond the years she has spent in pro-wrestling so far. The odds seem to always favor the Best Bros, no matter what situation they are put into. Will this time be different?

Haunting Hero & Enigmatic Hero! “Too Much Energy” Chie Koishikawa is the MVP of Season 9 and an incredibly dangerous (in a good way) competitor. She is the Frantic Fencer, a speed based striker that favors alternative knuckle chops and nimbleness. Chie has a mysterious dark side (that haunting look) and a spirit that will not be broken! She is out to prove that the wrestling world isn't ready for her brand of extreme speed... but Chie Koishikawa will be a major name some day, mark my words! (Assuming she doesn't destroy the Chocolate Square first with her shenanigans...) Chie tends to be utilized well as an easy fit partner for anyone, due to her energy and enthusiasm. This time there should be a lot of synergy, though! Her partner is the icon of Gatoh Move, the Enigmatic Hero, Sawasdee Kamen! He is somewhat of a mystery (as is customary with masked wrestlers). What exactly makes him heroic? What does he do when he isn't wrestling in Ichigaya? One thing is certain: he's got a real gift for pro-wrestling, you'd have to be a Psycho not to enjoy his style! It should be noted that Sawasdee Kamen and Mei Suruga do not get along, almost as if Mei is naturally opposed to heroes! The Best Bros had better keep on their toes, though, because SK tends to surprise the audience and his opponents alike. Interestingly, I think his name is a play on words! (Meaning roughly Hello Mask in a combination of Thai and Japanese, iirc)

ChocoPro Tag Matches are always a blast! What fun will the new pairings bring?

Masa Takanashi w/ Obihiro VS Kappa Kozo

UMA Invasion!? Or IWA Japan...

The Drunken Monkey, Masahiro Takanashi, is an amazing technician. One half of Calamari Drunken Kings (with Chris Brookes), Masa is fresh off a victory with his tall partner, and now seeks to get revenge on the Monster that stole his spot in the Summer Special! This wild brawler with a fascinating unique style that includes fighting game-esque fancy footwork (and a deep appetite for alcohol) is one of the most exciting combatants to watch! His mischievous personality leads to some very fun sequences during the bout, and often ends with his foe frustrated (and countered). Masa reminds me of how a scoundrel would fight from a fantasy story, if that helps! He'll definitely need to get into the fantasy mindset for this bout...

Kappa Kozo is a monster...and a myth of the wrestling scene! Having made appearances for IWA Japan long ago (and being the most frequent monster to appear on ChocoPro without a match), Kozo will finally make his mark in the Chocolate Square. While this monster might have championships on his record, he'll be faced with not only Masa, but Sayaka Obihiro! Obi has been out with injury (and lots of work as a chef at the place where wrestlers & monsters frequent, Ebisco Sakaba!), but she knows monsters well...will the Blue Heart (and flame) help take down this invading creature? Even if she is just there to observe, it is going to be pleasant to see Obi once again! (This sort of character is my favorite thing in wrestling, so I am quite excited for this match...especially given both Masa & Obi's comedic chops...and Obi's not so comedic one!) Expect this bout to be a sprint!

Yuna Mizumori VS Sayaka

Tropical Violence 2!

The photogenic phenom, Sayaka, returns! The “Beautiful Cosplayer” had a strong season in Nine, despite not having the best record. She has been showing more and more her aptitude for pro-wrestling (as well as a flashy personality). Her incredible striking power is her biggest strength (among many great qualities), considering those forearms sound like gunshots. Sayaka's technical ability is increasing as well, with our resident gamer & model dabbling in more complicated submissions and trickier pins. There is something special about Sayaka's fierce determination. She even has an edge that many of the Fourth Generation lack: she is able to enter the same unflinching emotional state that PSYCHO and Hagane Shinno can! Only Sayaka's is even more frightening, given she simply stays cheery no matter the danger level of the bout she is in. (“I'm gonna kill you! Yayyyyy!”) That unattached joy might eventually be the stuff of legends! She will need to tap into that quite a bit if she is going to rewrite history.

The last time they fought, “Tropical Fairy” Yunamon won in devastating fashion. Even with Sayaka's high level of strength, it is nothing compared to the ridiculous power of Tropical Yahho! Yuna is constantly busy, with Idol work and appearances for other promotions including Ganbare Joshi (which this match is a preview of...Sayaka & Yuna will clash once again at GanJo!) & Actwres Girlz. In ChocoPro, the Sing Song Lariat Machine is on the road to a battle with the Super Asia Champ, Minoru Fujita...Despite earning this shot, she will need to defend it once again soon! Yuna needs a strong showing, which won't be hard given her vibrant charisma and a ridiculous mix of speed and power! Yunamon is just awesome. One of the biggest assets of Yuna Mizumori is her nearly limitless supply of endurance. (Something associated with the best in the business!) This stamina monster will keep going and going well past the normal level, pushing her limits far beyond imagining! Can she keep her momentum rolling against her passionate foe once again? You Can't Stop the Tropical Yahho!

Best Bros (Mei Suruga & Baliyan Akki) VS Chie Koishikawa & Shin Suzuki

Teacher and Child! Shin Suzuki Appears!

Right there! The Best Bros can't be stopped...but Chie will try once again, with yet another new partner! While she is a frequent foe of the team, what danger will this second unknown combo present? It makes sense that the risk levels will increase until the weight of those belts is simply too much...Baliyan Akki, the Zephyr of Ichigaya and Ace of the Promotion, is as talented as they come. With breezy strike combos, effortless high flying, flowing submissions, and a mane of wild hair...Akki makes a great first impression on every new viewer. What heights will this technical master reach? There is no ceiling in sight! (Akki is appearing in DDT & GanPro, so keep an eye on wrestleUNIVERSE!) Did you know he originally wanted to be an Engineer designing and working on Motorcycles? His partner, “Big Apple” Mei Suruga, loves her tag belts almost as much as she loves snacks! The Giant Slayer has been going through a long term crisis as to whether or not she is “evil”, even recently questioning if she is an Angel or a Demon. A trick pin specialist, submission expert, and definitely not a goblin (though she has admitted to being one in the past), Mei has skill and experience well beyond the years she has spent in pro-wrestling so far. The odds seem to always favor the Best Bros, no matter what situation they are put into. Will this time be different?

“Too Much Energy” Chie Koishikawa is starting to become a bit unstable. As long predicted, that bewildering dark side she taps into (earning her the Haunting Hero epithet) has started to become more and more dominant...especially due to her frustrations with losing! While Chie is normally known for her cheery nature and intense agility, the brutality that gets revealed whenever her face (or voice) changes is quite frightening! Long time fans will remember the previous times that “dark” has begun to overwhelm one of the students of Emi Sakura, as it seems to be a kind of tradition...even for former fencers with knuckle chops! We are in the month of Halloween...and ChocoPro is dangerously close to having a horror character! Hopefully her debuting ally will help keep the darkness in check. Her partner this time is Shin Suzuki, represented by the Black Heart emoji! (Finally, I've been waiting so long for that one...figured it would have been one of the first picks!) It is definitely not ominous that Chie chose that for him (because his name is written the same way as Heart, of course!). Shin teaches children at the Heat Up dojo, where he also wrestles. His warm personality fits well with the general vibe of Ichigaya...and honestly, dealing with kids will probably come in handy in this den of goblins (and not goblins). Much like many of the guests for the online promotion, he has appeared across a wide variety of the japanese independent scene. How will his athletic background come into play? (It is always interesting to see how move sets change for Ichigaya) Will he be able to keep the darkness at bay for Chie, and maybe tap into some of that synergy she has with seemingly everyone? Welcome to ChocoPro, Shin Suzuki!
