9/11, wars in Afghanistan, Iraq: no stress Obama becomes president: poo poo'S GOING THROUGH THE ROOF That chart might as well be called "frequency of blue check marks being questioned by uppity peasants on Twitter" since that appears to be the true measure of stress as far as the author is concerned. steinrokkan has a new favorite as of 11:56 on Oct 11, 2021 |

If you believe there are only one or two ghosts you don't think ghosts exist, but if you think there are three of four ghosts, you do believe in ghosts? Hmm interesting hypotheses. I shall tell the two ghosts that haunt me so I don't believe in them!

You can't install a pool without a fence around it, but being required to lock up your gun is a fundamental breach of human rights in the US. For another fun fact, ~8k kids total are shot with a gun every year in the US. AreWeDrunkYet has a new favorite as of 13:21 on Oct 11, 2021 |

AreWeDrunkYet posted:The other causes of deaths are normalized for the Jan - Sep period. Annual is a weird word to use though. Perhaps, but it’s not just the wording that’s problematic. Presumably they took data for child deaths in that five‐year period and multiplied by nine sixtieths to get their figures, which isn’t the same thing as using the numbers for the first nine months of each year. This is U.S. drowning deaths, all ages, 2018. Flu and pneumonia also have obvious seasonal relationships. I don’t know about cars, guns, and heart disease.

They should've added all cause mortality as a reference. I have no idea if a two hundred dead American kids are a lot or not.

The possible answers for "Are ghosts real?" are apparently 1, 2, 3, and 4. So presumably if you think 1 or 2 ghosts exist, ghosts are not real.

Sure, loss and all that, but I'm too annoyed. There's no goddamn correlation between being open minded and believing in ghosts. Being open to new experiences and interpretations even tends to undercut supernatural belief. gently caress this graphing your assumptions and calling it insight bullshit.

I never got that distribution with the SAT. When I first took it in 7th grade, I got a score that would have gotten me admitted to most colleges and when I took it again in HS I just got one question wrong. It's a ridiculously easy test. I never took any classes for it and I don't see how taking a course could improve your skills for something that is not hard. The evidence is obviously against me but I don't get it.
