everyone talks about how weird it is that beverly hosed a ghost in that one episode of tng

but the real thing that gets me about that episode is that theres a whole planet dedicated to cosplaying as scottish people, and even aliens want in on it

The script was cribbed from an Anne Rice story. Sex ghosts and cosplay is the same milieu. Beverly's grandmother moving there fits the mold.

How come the Crusher ghost sex gets shamed but Zefram Cochrane gets a pass with edging a sentient space cloud for hundreds of years?

Nope, the episode where he cures the catatonic one from the Brain Trust and then proceeds to harass her to the point where she's fakes being catatonic again and everyone around him is telling him how hosed up it is happened during the Dominion War.

That was the first one I thought of because it was so cartoonishly skeevalicious that it rose above subtext to become the plot of the episode

One time i prank called a bear buildin workshop and said I wanted my mamaws ashes put in a teddy from where she loved them things so well... The woman on the phone did not skip a beat. She just said, "Brang her on down here. We've did it before."
My theory is that everything but Julian's social skills towards women were genetically modified.

He did have a nice breakup with leeta tho, didn't he?

You need another science whiz. 2nd Janeway would probably be the best choice for the other duplicate, but since she's self-destructing her ship, it would be a real dick move for her to bail on it.

Something about the latter seasons of DS9 reminds me of Joss Whedon, and it’s not the obvious supernatural stuff. It might have just been the flavor of the time, in terms of genre television writing in the late 90s.

Do not trust in hope- it will betray you! Only faith and hatred sustain.

Bashir has a good run from like late season 2 to mid season 6 or so where he's not incredibly creepy but I guess the writers just didn't know what to do with him

What was ever wrong with the other woman other than being insanely horny anyway? Being insanely horny really isn't a crime in the Federation, just look at Riker.

almost like there are double standards or something. Also assuming the writers are infallible and wont accidentally project their own biases into the text

he should have come out as a space gay. it would have been a great arc and would seriously improved the show. it's one of the few times where the fan fiction people are correct.
