Hi Guys!

1)A few hard drive crashes ago, I lost all my image archives, spanning back from the early 2000s. But I am trying to replace them when I think of the again. This one I've been trying for a few months:

It is a color illustration that looks to be in an Alchemy/Study. There are 2 figures, shown directly from the side. One is a large, scary monster wearing a robe. The other is a girl or woman, much smaller in scale. The monster is extending a robotic bladelike hand towards the female character, but in an almost gentle, paternal fashion.

The image made the rounds about 10 years ago?

Quoting this again because I think I may have found this. Is this your image?

It's called "The Offering" and the artist is Justin "Coro" Kaufman.

I know someone going through high level government security clearance, and I remember seeing a blog (I think it was linked through from here) that was just lists of applications for the highest level of US clearance with transcripts that went into why they were/weren't accepted. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I remember one that was someone waxing lyrical about fantasising about their daughter or something and getting accepted.

Real wildcard request from before YouTube. In 2003 my roommate showed me a video. It was a mockumentary type thing about the sport of "shoeing". Basically running around a skate park doing "tricks" but with no skateboard, bike or roller blades. All the tricks are just running up a ramp and jumping off.

The movie itself is a series of interviews with various Legends and trendsetters of the sport and clips shot in the style of 90s skate videos. I think it about 15-20 minutes long.

It was floating around my schools file-sharing hub, but I'm not sure if it ever made it to the wider internet.

It wasn't like this. The whole joke was that they were literally just running around pretending to do tricks. Their version of grinding a rail was to hop on and take a bunch of little steps and jump off again.

When my wife and I were staying at a lodge in the Amazon a few years ago, the owner was doing a “movie night” during dinner in which he was playing various clips from concerts. He had a hard drive just full of concert videos. In particular was this one of a Latin dude doing a cover of “All Night Long” that was absolutely amazing. He was wearing typical 70s disco garb that was reflective and shiny. Possibly a white suit. He was sweating his rear end off during the super passionate and energetic performance in front of thousands of screaming fans. For the life of me I can’t find who this guy was or where it was filmed but it was such a good cover I just want to experience it again.

EDIT: It was Captain Harlock after all.

An anime style show.

Don't know if it was a series or a movie. Or ever a series butchered into a movie for the western audience.

It was about space pirates, I don't 'think' it was Captain Harlock related though.

All I remember is a spaceship gets attacked by a pirate ship - skull and crossbones painted on it's nose which fires missiles into the target which penetrate the target's hull and release a gas that paralyses/freezes the target ship's crew. Then the pirates board wearing possibly armoured space suits and search the target for something. I remember one or more of them chatting to or commenting to the frozen crew of the target while they searched.

Would have been available in the UK, either having been shown on TV or on video, probably late 80s or early 90s.

Looking for a screencap of a facebook post. It was a guy, named Charlie I think, who posts in all caps about riding his atv or dirt bike. And then his wife responds sweetly that they could be riding it together. And the guy basically responds with SEX or BOOBS or something and she tries to keep up with him and he blurts out the all timer YOU MY WIFE and she says yes I’m your wife, Charlie??

Now with less breakage.

The "great art that reflects society" thread or whatever it's called set me wondering about and searching for a specific piece of art I can best describe as environmentalist propaganda from the 80s.

It's a painting (oil?), fairly realistic, of a kid (boy?) sitting by a dirty puddle in a polluted industrial landscape. There may be leaking barrels involved, and I'm not ruling out a nuclear power plant in the background; and things are rather grey. I think he is looking at a flower?

I think I may have seen it in a schoolbook in Norway the early 90s, and IIRC a few other places after that - but I'm fairly sure it's from ... somewhere in the rest of the western world.
