I think the fetischists avoid smaller scale like the plague. Not enough space for detail. That's why they tend to gravitate towards 54mm scale and bigger.

This is a GW model from sometime in the 90s.

The cheerleaders in the Blood Bowl 2 video game are based on this design

GW still sells orc cheerleaders through Forge World, just not with pasties.

I'm going to a Net Epic Armageddon tournament next month. I'm toying around with 3k points lists. Here is what I'm tentatively taking:

Regimental HQ w/ Hydra 525pts

Mechanized Infantry 450pts w/ Hydra

Infantry 250pts

Artillery Battery 250pts - 3 Bombard

Storm Trooper w/ chimera 300pts

Rough Rider Platoon 150pts

Rough Rider Platoon 150pts

Sentinels 100pts

Warlord Titan 825pts

The list has some pretty big flaws, mainly no air cover and a hopeless lack of activations, but it does put some very tough formations into action. I'm not too concerned about sending a super competitive list, mostly I just want to have fun. However, I want to avoid getting absolutely clowned on, as that would not be fun. I'm curious as to folks thoughts on this list.

Curious if you decided to tweak the army at all or get in any practice games?? Would love to hear about it

I'm printing 2 Epic 30k Armies, Iron Warriors and White Scars, before moving onto a Tyranid army then some BFG.

I played my first game of Kill Team 2.0 yesterday. I am not entirely sure I liked it, but I definitely didn't hate it. It took us about 3 hours to go from setting up the table to completing part of turn 2. This is because neither of us had played it before and we were basically reading the rules as we went. I'm sure it would play much faster if we understood all the possible interactions. We called it there just because I had to get home to cook steak for my anniversary.

I went with a Drukhari list and they have a lot of fun toys to play with despite not being one of the two specialist forces. Death Guard are loving annoying bastards and I hate them though!

Yeah first game took us 2 hours, we ran it back and finished the second in under 1. It's pretty breezy once you know how it flows.

Fun story, I won my first(/15 played) game of Blood Bowl, where for some reason I just murdered loving face as Skaven of all things. Killed the Kroxigor(triple Pow! and 12/12 armor/injury rolls) and half his sauruses in the first 5 rounds. 3-1 my favor, he took it well. I've only ever tied and the dice have hosed me hard so far, so it was a nice feeling. Not a league game, sadly.

Warmaster question: I'm going to base my cav long way vs. short way for maximum use across other rulesets. How much would this gently caress up the game if I played against a standard based army?

Just base cavalry on two 20mm squares so you can face them either way in play.

basing your cav along the long edge of the base would vastly diminish their usefulness

But it's fine, I guess...

You just keep being you!

Splitting the figures onto squares, to be ranked however, would be the best idea in this case.

It would maximize the number of games you can use them in, but there's some considerations. you won't be able to split (most) warmaster strips in half, you'll have to print single minis and arrange them. it also sounds kinda tedious since you'll have six stands per unit instead of 3 unless you make some kind of magnetized tray or something

I've already done that in the print & prep for painting stage. Also helps so I can differentiate by model count between heavy & light cav for other systems like HoTT & MM:TtS. Doesn't matter much for KoW 10mm but it's fine.

Are the Blitz Bowl minis the same size as the Blood Bowl minis? I have Blood Bowl Season 2 (and I'll paint em up someday) and Blitz looks like a good quicker/simpler version to introduce a friend to it. It'd be cool to be able to use the Season 2 teams too.

Anyone weigh in on Blitz Bowl? I've mostly played Blood Bowl 2 on PS4 but became obsessed with it pretty quickly and bought th Season 2 box.

The minis are identical.

As for the game, Blitz Bowl is very good but the two games have only superficial similarities. For me (a big Blood Bowl fan), Blitz lacks personality and narrative - most especially in terms of leagues/campaigns. But it has a much quicker pace and a set of rules that are less punishing for poor play.

Thanks. I watched a vid of someone playing and the minis looked really small but I think it was the camera angle and possibly that I'm currently assembling Underworlds minis which are bigger.

Per the fluff, Blitz Bowl is essentially fans and prospects seeing if they have what it takes to even play Blood Bowl, so, essentially, if a Blitz player scores a TD, they are immediately whisked off the field and put into the draft. Like Squibsy said, it's very fast, and very light, and it's full of rules and gameplay that isn't present in Blood Bowl. The dice / "combat" system is almost the only thing that is shared, and even that's a bit different. Blitz Bowl is definitely more of a new player / kid / casual game vs BB with is definitely more of a finesse game that really shines in a campaign.

They're the standard GW size. BB models tend to have less big ornate armor and are often either stretching out to catch a ball, or hunched and running, so they seems smaller. The original Gouged Eye orc blockers are the same size as AoS Brutes or WHU Morgok's Krushas.
