i just took it for granted that plastic stuff was everywhere but, like, most of the stuff we made was still just metal or wood or stone and the plastic filling in the gaps. but it's literally the opposite, plastic makes up our entire civilization. how did we get here so rapidly from the 1940s. wtf.
