For the record, Master of Black Magic was his first epithet:

Also there was a real disparity of stakes in those split stories in Strange Tales:

Bonus Bats being cute even in layouts:

Dr. Strange gets defeated in basically every story he's featured in whereas the Thing rarely gets to meet Ringo Starr.

I was really struck by how "Marvel Method" the early Dr. Strange stories are, to the extent that Ditko's art tells a clear story without dialogue. I removed the text from a page to show this:

With text:

I tried "reading" some of the early stories without paying attention to the text on the page and I got the vast majority of what was going on.

Have you gotten to write Emma Frost yet? I'm not gonna suggest any story ideas to you I know that's very bad to do, I just think you'd be good at writing her in something.

Marvel added a bunch of Ghostrider to unlimited, a bunch are non sequential so I hope it's filling in strange gaps. Also looks like they're adding them the same day as new comics so it's easier to notice if when they do it.

Edit: just checked, they have 1-35 missing issue ten and then issue 50 and 55 of his first series.

I had no idea this was in the works, and can only imagine some of the themes they'll cover given everything that's happened in the real world since the last X-Statix book.

They did a one shot near the start of the Krakoa era, that said they were doing an ongoing, but it was before COVID and this is the first time anyone said anything about it since so I think a lot of people like me assumed it was one of the quietly canceled books.

Those last two weren't added this week, it looks like they just had really spotty coverage of early Ghost Rider.

Allred said last year that it was still happening, but as that was over a year after the initial announcement I'd also missed it and figured it was altogether dead

I'm really curious to see what Allred and Milligan make of the current political situation around media, given how prominent modern media was in the original book. I think the distorting effect of media upon celebrity that they examined in the book has become a more intimate affair with the advent of social media. They're going to have to incorporate the modern experience of a celebrity if they want if they want the new book to be relevant.
