I'm 33 and I know all about these movies. They were on basic cable all the time growing up.

Also people still listen to that Usher song in 2021? Really? I guess I really am out of it.

It's funny he mentions "there's nudity because it's the 80s." On another forum I post on we were just discussing how there is apparently less sex in movies nowadays. Not since the 80s, more like the last few years.

Just found this channel, seems to mostly cover obscure historical/scientific things. Kind of gives me the same vibe as these pulpy books I read in the 80s of hoaxes and disasters. Might be worth a look if you're into that.

Just finished that cyberpunk video after watching all the parts, I had no idea who this guy was before but I sort of love him now. Exactly my kind of thing. Love that the whole overwrought tortured thing was made of pure spite for people who criticised his other videos length, thanks thread.

Try and find the documentary "This movie is not yet rated" its all about movie ratings, censorship and how the MPAA system is used to keep movies not made by the major studios out of movie theaters. It's old though so I dont know how dated it is.

Every time I've tried to revisit those 80's comedies that I used to like when I was a teenager mostly what I think is "Wow, there is a startling and upsetting amount of sexual assault in these films."

Every time an 80s comedy was made, the writers flipped a coin with "sexual assault" on one side and "the f-slur" on the other.

I watched Van Wilder last year and outside of Ryan Reynolds being exactly the same as he was 20 years ago that movie was a rather large yikes on top of the godawful "stop acting insane so you can win the no-nonsense hot girl as your prize" plot that so many bad sex comedies used.

Eurotrip is maybe the only movie from that crop of trash films that I still enjoy but that's mainly because it treats everyone as a psychopath and revels in bad taste.

Sex and nudity is much more controversial and variable for international markets, and can land your movie an R rating out of the blue domestically if you hit the wrong ratings board member. Unless it can be seamlessly removed a movie will just avoid it.

I'm in my 40s and saw most of them... some even in the theatre. I think the first one was the only one I actually really liked... I had that one on Beta (because 80's) and watched that one as a kid in the glorious TV edit version.

Later on the most entertaining part was trying to figure out what parts of Toronto they were filming in.

Tim Rogers is correct, in that a holistic approach to games criticism is the correct one.

I have made my crank opinions about remakes and remasters known, I believe in this very thread, about holistic, contextual experiences of art.

That all being said I do not have the time for his Cyberpunk video and hopefully never will.

I've always described Euro Trip as a prototype for Always Sunny. It's got very similar cast and energy but it just hasn't figured out where the line is and it's not locked into one place they can develop. Has some sketch comedy film vibes instead.

Zorchin' some Flemoids

I just finished watching all of the Action Button Reviews: Cyberpunk 2077 parts, and really enjoyed it. I followed his instructions and ended up with what I think is maybe the most optimal path.

It was 1 -> 6 -> 7 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> 5 and I think this was optimal/maybe intended because there was only one skip required, and (Part 5 Spoilers)Part 5 being a rugpull/unfinished content/"DLC" tease/"True Ending" hahaha.

Eurotrip knew exactly what kind of film it was and the tone needed to pull off bits like the robot fight. (Also agreed about it being the only one of those trash films I still enjoy too)

Eurotrip is pretty great, but I secretly wonder if it would have been an all-time classic if they had stuck with the original ending. (Or if doing that would have made everything too obvious.)

Oh god it's over an hour long.

e. I don't know if he brings it up at all in the video or not but when he and Shammy were streaming this a week back a handful of actual devs for the game popped up in discord to talk poo poo about the creator (tl;dr he's an abusive rear end in a top hat who also refused to pay people for their work, acted like he was literally Haze) and in the process dumped an archive containing all the game project files... which somebody in discord immediately used to make "Steamed Hams but it's Anonymous Agony" in RPG Maker.
