Youtube recommended me a video of Dave Chappelle bashing trans people for 25 minutes. I didn't watch it of course but man, gently caress the algorithm. Just absolute garbage poo poo, especially since I watch a lot of leftist stuff.

Nah but I wish he had that would've been funny. It was bizarre because he was actually acting like an adult. I kinda had him cornered so his argument turned to Trump meant some imaginary good people on the statue side and wasn't referring specifically to the Nazis. He's a serial blocker so I think he's mostly used to his echo chamber.

I don't know where to hang this observation but I listen to and read about a fair share of true crime stuff and lately I've begun to notice how many real monster serial killers and poo poo tried really hard to become cops, ministers and/or flunked out of the military. These three cornerstones of American society that get their own flags and poo poo which conservatives slavishly worship.

Reflecting on it, it makes a certain amount of sense since people like that primarily want power and control over others but I'd never given it much thought before and it's kind of hosed up how more connections to nerd poo poo like Dungeons and Dragons, video games or metal music are made over actual paid government funded jobs that license someone to arm themselves and kill other people.

I'm not sure what my point is or if I even have one but it's something I've been thinking about lately.

I posted this late last night in the Trump thread in relation to Fox/Fucker Carlson and their new BS video coming out this week.

Fox news is cable news, therefore not subject to the FCC regulations that we all think they should be because the FCC only controls things that are freely available over the airwaves.

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/fox-news-entertainment-switch/

quote:

The FCC regulates broadcast networks, since the airwaves are free and public. But cable channels, which rely on subscribers, viewers and advertisers, are beyond government control. Since cable runs through private providers, the FCC plays no role in issuing or revoking licenses, and it has no say on what the channels can air.

“The hook for (broadcast) content regulation … is the fact that broadcasters have government-issued licenses that allow them to use the airwaves, and that it’s freely available to anyone with a receiver,” said John Bergmayer, senior counsel at Public Knowledge, an intellectual property group based in Washington, D.C.

“This doesn’t apply to cable networks.”

This gives any cable news channel the right to spew any bullshit they so desire.
Which Fox takes full advantage of.
But to be sure, so does CNN and MSNBC even more.
To a much lesser degree than Fox, but CNN does still post poo poo that leaves out small bits of info sometimes just because it would contradict the point they wanted to make.
In general they know their viewers are fairly smart and would pick up on it.
Fox viewers are not. We arent even touching OANN/Newsmax.

So we are left with Fox posting these upcoming videos that are completely fabricated bullshit and the ADL is begging them not to present.

Right-wing Catholics are still raw because they had what amounted to the advantage if not supremacy since JP2 and now they're not in the driver's seat anymore.

I actually kinda wonder if the Church got mixed up with the CIA and the mafia fuckery that was going on in Italy after Vatican 2 and that's what caused such a hard right turn. But it also could be that they just had a rich crop of shitheads.

Kansas, actually. "Pope Michael I" set up shop there in 1990, after a conclave that included his parents. He has about 30 followers.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Bawden

The Second Vatican Council broke a lot of brains, man.

  • Some people claim that the current Pope was legitimately elected, but lacks authority (semideprivationism).
  • Some claim that the seat of the Pope is empty because every Pope since John XXIII was a heretic (sedevacantism).
  • Some claim that, because the seat of the Pope is empty, they can elect their own, like the guy above (conclavism).
  • Finally, some skip the conclave and claim Jesus or the Virgin Mary appeared to them and personally appointed them Pope. They typically take the name "Pope Peter II" and hold that the end of the world is near (mysticalism).

Thankfully, the groups above are generally considered schismatic cranks by even the most hardcore traditionalist and conservative Catholics. It doesn't bode well for the future, though. Questions about the role of the church in the modern world and the relationship of the church to other faiths aren't going away.

It's fun to read about, though.

I might be jumbling multiple instances of those IP2 idiot streamers though. Is/was ip2 one of those hosted by EPIK as a last ditch, since their content seem to just be racist rear end in a top hat alt-right types streaming their various crimes?
