Hi all, I'm trying to find a song based on its music video. Here is what I recall. Dance/Trance Song From Late 90's/2000s. The singer is male, but the video stars a young woman. The video is live-action, but everything is animated in stop motion. It starts off with the woman in bed in her underwear. She gets out of bed and is dressed in stop motion, with her clothes being applied to her body. She then leaves her house, and waterskis on the pavement, either being dragged by a bus or a car. Please help.

I think I heard this song in the closing credits from an episode of "The Sopranos". It is a rapid fire spoken vocal line with a British accent that is similar to the Sex Pistols or PIL. I can't remember the lyrics, but it seems like every line or verse ended with the same words. edit: found a website with all the closing credits videos. It was "Evidently Chickentown" by John Cooper Clarke (1980) Skunkduster fucked around with this message at 06:51 on Oct 31, 2021 |

EDM song, as the melody builds up the lyrics are a male volcalist (Multiple? maybe just the one guy layered over each other) saying something to the effect "I believe I believe I believe (maybe a 4th one?), I can...flyyyyyy" i could have the words wrong but it's more or less in that meter think Swedish House Mafia, avicii etc

I’m looking for an album/artist, electronic music themed on east berlin or maybe west Soviet Union near the breakup of the Soviet Union. Kinda vague but I think it was mentioned around something awful when it was released

I spent all morning googling before remembering this thread existed, so here goes nothing: I'm looking for a music video. It's some kind of death metal/metalcore thing (this would have been in the mid 2000's, maybe 2007? so I think that would be the right genre maybe?) Anyway, from what I remember the video takes place in an old house, vaguely dungeon-like. I don't remember too much, but intercut with footage of the band is this story about two children playing together or falling in love or something, told in flashbacks. The thing that burned itself into my mind is the final shot of the video. A woman, heavily implied to be the same child from the flashback, now an old crone, reaching for the singer, but it plays out like a shadowplay on the dungeon wall. That image really stuck with me and I'd like to find the video again. If there are any Canadagoons in the thread, I'm like 95% positive I saw this on MuchMusic back in the day. Anyway, would be cool to see it again if it can be found. Thanks!

I was thinking of a song I havent heard in maybe 5 years, I guess its from the 2010s. Female vocalist with loud electronic backing music and a super generic title that is also said at the end of each verse "I Want It" or maybe "I Got It" but I'm having trouble finding this song because theres so many songs with titles like that. I think theres another line in the song like "We set the car on fire" or something.

I'm not sure why I'm curious about this, because I don't remember it being a great song or anything, but I remember catching an indie-rock song on TV in the late 90s with a chorus that had the line "I've been lifted... by a hurricane". If I had to make a stab, the band had that hooky Feeder/Ash kind of sound. Lyric search is dry so far.

Alan Smithee posted:Definitely not rock you like a hurricane right? Nah, the sound was definitely more late 90s landfill indie (like, that post-britpop period where session musicians and producers would thrown in some hair gel and do radio friendly rock songs), not hair metal or anything. This is obviously over 20 years ago, but the band were maybe in their early 30s and I got the impression it was a debut single.

An emo or indie kinda song, not really sure what to call it. It ends with the line "Is this thing on?", and part of the chorus says something like "Where are you (tonight?)?".

This is kind of a 'help me find a video' request, but there was a commercial for Sears Canada in the very early 2000s with a jingle that kids would sing as if it was a real Christmas Carol. It ended with the sears jingle at the time, 'all in favour of keeping it simple say sears'. There was more before but I don't remember the lyrics. The video was a cartoon of diverse stick men coming together and holding hands I think

Nothing in particular comes to mind, though. I'm trying to think of what song that I've heard recently has had this big-band style descending pattern. I know it's probably been used a lot, but I think I heard it in a movie or commercial recently. I've recreated it on a sequencer, though the piece I'm thinking of is a bit slower and more jazzy. (Also that site doesn't seem to load properly for me unless I change browsers, so apologies if it doesn't work.)

A hip hop song I heard earlier today that had some pretty fast rapping going on, one of the guys reminded me a bit of Danny Brown, but I'm not sure if he was on it. The voice wasn't quite as manic as his is. There was something like a flute playing during the main beat. In the middle of the song there was some spoken word stuff that said stuff about making your parents parents mad, like buying real estate in a place that doesn't exist.

Not a song but a vaporwave album I once found somewhere on Bandcamp: A concept album of soundtrack music for a fictitious GBA/DS game. The title has the word 'island' in it and the album art is designed to look like the box art for a video game. I don't think it was a particularly well known album, and I'm not sure how much people know about vaporwave stuff here but I thought I'd give it a shot.

I've got a weird one and I hope no one minds me asking it here because it fits here more than anywhere else : http://sndup.net/pj64 This has been bopping around in my head for a while, and I know it, but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me and it's driving me crazy. All I know is that's it's definitely Irish and I think it's in jig time, but I can't tell for sure cause it's all slippery in my head. It's surprisingly hard to reverse-search just a tune by itself.
