Very green of them.

I love when we conjecture about adding fillers to roads. The idea of tires rubbing up on ground up plastic binding in cement fills me with a burbly feeling and makes the inside of my head smell like that new-car scented air freshener

Just heard another NPR segment "It's Been a Minute" which had some nice quotesquote:Here you know climate change is such a big problem for everyone that I sometimes find it very difficult to even talk about both in my personal life and frankly on this show. But all that aside, I am still kind of hopeful because I think that hope is something we should have something we have to have for this kind of thing. quote:So if you don't think that you are going to achieve this outcome, then what's the use in trying right? Whereas I'm very much shaped in the idea that there is a right thing to do and a wrong thing to do so why would I do the wrong thing because the right thing won't get the outcome I'm looking for? quote:The biggest thing you can do is often just not make more humans. And no one wants to hear that, of course, so I think the option that I often push people to is politics like make sure you are pushing to elect representatives at all levels of government and voting in every single election to ensure that we have people in power who actually get that climate change is happening and are willing to make laws to address it. quote:I mean, the only reason I'm not constantly having a panic attack is 'cause I'm doing my part right like I'm trying to figure out how to be useful everyday. OK, and the way that I recommend that people think about that is think about this Venn diagram of like what are you good at in one circle, another circle being like what part of this huge challenge of addressing the climate crisis do you want to work on? Is it bike lanes or composting or energy efficient buildings? Pick your part and then the 3rd circle of the overlapping Venn diagram would be what brings you joy.

They're just fine with others having less kids, usually the type that they call "those people," typically with the extra quantifier of "you know, *over there*."

Either way there's still no way to devulcanize rubber so every car and bike tire ever made eventually becomes part of the circle of life via rubbing, burning, sinking, or burial. The constant brrrrrrrr sound of wheels on pavement is the replacement for the sounds of living things E; heehee we literally rubbed ourselves out, what a bunch of wankers Car Hater has issued a correction as of 23:09 on Oct 31, 2021 |

oh yeah, this should be like the thread theme song, tho https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TJ-hCMX7-4 the intro riff should just play on repeat in midi when browsing this thread and this thread only lyrics so you don't have to look for them: Once upon a time - this is almost true When the sun came out for a day or two It would beat the war to the top of the news - This'll make no sense in 2102 When the antiques show where the river once flowed And your gran remembers having no suntan at all - and waterfalls Where did the waterfalls go? Welcome to the meltdown Amazing how close to total collapse It gets when you have to turn off the taps And the plastic surgery starts to crack And no you can't have your money back Not sure where it went but its all been spent On carbon-based industrial waste recall - but it's all too late Where did the oxygen go? Welcome to the meltdown Want ice with that? well i'll draw you a map To the tourist resort on the polar cap Where the drinks-included menu states Make the most of it before it's too late One drop at a time on a slow decline We had it all figured out One drop at a time on a slow decline And then the water ran out
