Yeah, I rolled my eyes when they said they were doing heat for a third time, but getting Michael Mann in to talk about the film does, for me at least, justify the excess. The larger point about Simmons dragging down the Rewatchables by allowing it to only focus on movies he likes is a fair one however.

PFT’s still getting shoutouts on ESPN (his tweets show up on the Manningcast) so he’s clearly not persona non grata even if ESPN stopped working with Barstool. Honestly the fact that Barstool is now just the media arm for a sports betting business makes me think that they’re just gonna keep circling the wagons and play the “he said she said” card. They don’t have to play nice and they’re gonna keep getting money from the Stoolies (what a dumb loving fitting name), especially since Portnoy is legendarily bad at betting. Unless actual criminal charges happen, he’s gonna stick around like a gross boil on the rear end of sports media

From what we’ve learned over the past few years, the only job there that’s safe is that of Jon Bois (as he has seniority and is reportedly very tight with several of their execs). I think if he had stayed there he would have been part of the same firings that got the Fullcast crew.
