That's a pretty common thing for comedians. After you intentionally tell a funny joke, you scream at the audience for laughing. The follow up to "who's on first?" was famously Abbot and Costello breaking character to remind you they wrote the skit as a joke, they don't even play baseball, you dumbass!

She let him pick the music, and because he was a huge nerd he picked the classic Tetris music. Pft, drowning music is a terrible alarm clock. I use Grieg's Morning Mood as mine, and everyone who has ever been woken by my alarm has gone on to comment that that is an incredibly pleasant start to the day.
