I had a laugh at this Crunchroll promotion with Xbox Game Pass since the Xbox app (which granted I haven't checked in on for ages but recent comments seems to suggest that it's still the case) performed like hot garbage with relatively poor video quality and janky performance. https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2021/11/09/crunchyroll-premium-arrives-on-xbox-game-pass-ultimate-perks/ The Windows app also hasn't been updated since 2019 and has a crippling bug where it'll forget your credentials and you're forced to log back in almost daily. The only feasible way to watch on Crunchyroll has been to install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) which is essentially using it through a web browser. I imagine it's the only sane way to use it on an Xbox via the Edge Browser.

I'm still wondering if the Gundam movie is adapting MSG or is just "a Gundam movie." I think it could work if you took the latter and just did like an original-ish thing.

Yeah which is gonna be a shame. That's setting yourself up to fail, but Gundam has been home to so many different stories that I think if a movie wanted to do something original, it could find a niche.

I got a soft spot for elfen lied because it was the first anim i watched with the awareness that i was watching anime and not afancy cartoon. Its very schlocky but i still find that the emotional bits with lucy hit deep.
