I'd wager there's a launch-day patch that should probably deal with at least some of the stuff like the rain grid and the material mismatch on the basketball jersey. (I actually know exactly what's happened with the jersey too - Someone's copied the material from one with the number 7 and forgotten to swap the Normal file for one with a raised 9 on the surface.)

Fates was genuinely three different games and three different stories. It was very ambitious and uh, not good. You can really see where they kept adding in more and more ideas and didn't know when to stop themselves, until it was just bursting at the seams. Three Houses also had multiple routes but in the one game. It was, again, probably too much story for them to handle and playing a single route leaves you very confused, but in my opinion it was miles better than Fates' story.
