i have a moonlander, it's pretty nice, i haven't taken it out of its nice included neoprene case in a while because I have been crunching a bit and I have it set up for Colemak, which is really fun to type and a lot more accurate but still involves a certain amount of mental headroom that I haven't had the space for at this stage of learning

Got a different sort of mechanical keyboard today! Once I get a red/black ribbon I’ll be able to have pages of text with two colors

Switching from the typewriter to the mechanical keyboard I have for the computer, I realize I'm really hammering down on the keys way more. Gotta be exact and powerful on the typewriter for it to look decent

Tokyo Mechanical Keyboard meetup volume 6 has some pretty awesome/cursed builds https://www.jwz.org/blog/2019/06/tokyo-mechanical-keyboard-meetup-vol-6/ More here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/164140344@N07/sets/72157708768047012/ I'm particularly fond of the one that's just totally remolded to look like the interior of a 1990's Sedan: https://i.imgur.com/BsZivFq.png

I made the mistake of trying to do it all at once and it was a struggle until the steps were broken down. Took a good three weeks to adjust but there isn't a single day my wrists aren't thanking me.

Imagine doing all the work necessary to engineer a big titty clickety clacker piece of poo poo for what is essentially identical to the analog sticks readily available on any basically game controller made in the past 20 years.

i was just about to say the design of that reminds me a lot of the shortcut-menu mechanic that you see in a lot of games and would be way easier to manipulate with thumb sticks

going to make a keyboard that is comprised of 2 h gated manual gearbox shifters, each side will have hi/lo range selector also to get enough key combinations. push in clutch to make a key combo and release to type it. if u drop the clutch ur computer crashes

finished! screw modded and recycled the toggle switches to activate layers and / or reset the keyboard. the pico fit behind the toggle switches. need to figure out a neater way to hide the ribbon breakouts but so far it all works. the three layers (using KMK) so far: can toggle layers intermittently using the first column of keys or permanently using the toggle switches. no diodes in the original membranes so there’s some minor ghosting and glitching with some key combos, but for a holiday break project I’m happy with how it came out.

ok i made a mouse jiggler for keyboards running qmk. i can't install software on my work pc, and i don't want a purchased mouse jiggler showing up as "USB Mouse Jiggler" or whatever whnn i plug it in, so i use my keyboard pressing a key toggles JIGGLE MODE between on and off. shamelessly stole the mouse jiggling bhevaiour itself from this guy: https://github.com/DIYCharles/MouseJiggler i've done almost no work all week and no-one has said anything lmao. i've cleaned the house, done some gardening, read a couple books. code:
