One time he accidently gave me entire control over the forums when he tried to give me access to the SLUTS forum. I read through the different secret forums (like the mod threads and whatnot) and then informed him. He gave me a plat account for free for letting him know without destroying the forums. Also I once came in third place in a photoshop contest that Lowtax judged (something about making video games look like real life) and then he went on to poo poo on my picture and tell me how I could have made it better... I work in mental health. Have for 15 years now, which makes me want to vomit when I say it out loud. I've had one of the worst runs of personal luck in the last 4 years, and this past 2 years have just burnt me the gently caress out. In the past 2 weeks I've had to find support for groups who have lost employees to: murder, suicide, murder, suicide, and layoffs. And I bet some of those laid off people will kill themselves too. I lost a friend to an OD 2 years ago, and couldn't bring myself to go to the funeral. Most days right now I honestly want to crawl into a hole, or live in a cabin in the woods, just so I don't have to deal with anyone else's problems anymore. And I love what I do, but it's too much right now. But this website has really brought me a lot of laughs, and been a great distraction if nothing else. My account is almost old enough to drink. And regardless of the nature of the humor here, and regardless of whatever your feelings towards Lowtax, this is just another reminder that it's never too late to stop and reflect on who you are, and what you're leaving behind. You can be an rear end in a top hat on the internet, but for gently caress's sake we all need to be better to each other in real life.

Not exactly Something Awful, but a good chunk of my tween/teen years was spent laughing at 4chan lite humor and piling on people because thats what "the cool kids" did. These forums (and growing up in general) helped me realize that they are people too. It was a slow process however.

During the 2016 election anyone who toxxed for Hillary was told by the mod team that they would just be probated instead since it was a lot of people and a crazy happening etc Lowtax decided he wanted that cash and told the mod to ban them anyways.
