I know lowtax was probably a bad person who engaged in abusive things with women...but I was in a dark place once. Some things I had said here got me in trouble with a previous employer and he came to my aid and defended me when he didn't have to just because I was a goon. There were a few times outside of that where he helped e get out of a dark place. I'm thankful for that and SA for being a mostly good force in my life for the past 20+ years. I also feel pretty icky that how it all went down very probably had something to do with his death. He wasn't great..I get it. But I wish we could take a lesson about how we did dog pile the poo poo out of him and maybe could have done better.

What a loving weird encapsulation of a period of time, what a strange journey. I guess I didn't expect this, but I didn't expect any of the poo poo that happened toward the end either. I wish he hadn't ended up like he did, in a number of ways. Remember when this was one of the top comedy sites? Going up against Fark, back when photoshop was pretty new still and poo poo seemed hilarious? I'm very grateful for what he put in motion, though I feel in a sense we made it and kept it alive (for better and worse, over the years) it wouldn't have existed without him. I remember how it was in the 2000s and how it all seemed it might go. Didn't expect a lot yet to come. RIP Lowtax, condolences to those who miss him most.
