Because if they just gave you PDFs you wouldn't have to buy the book.

Ok I know I've been posting lists a lot, had my tournament today, so here is the last of that for a bit.

I took the following list in the end:

REGIMENTAL HQ [475]
Supreme Commander, 12 Infantry, 7 Chimera

INFANTRY COMPANY [250]
Commander, 12 Infantry

TANK COMPANY [700]
9 Leman Russ, Vanquisher, Hydra

STORM TROOPER PLATOON [300]
8 Storm Troopers, Chimera Transport

ROUGH RIDER PLATOON [150]
6 Rough Riders

BASILISK BATTERY [225]
3 Basilisks

SENTINEL SQUADRON [100]
4 Sentinels

REAVER CLASS TITAN [650]

THUNDERBOLT FIGHTERS [150]
2 Thunderbolts

Managed to win all three of my games. I even killed a Phantom titan. The storm troopers did very well, though I did get caught once on the wrong side of a river and really wished I had valks. People seemed to really have trouble with my three big units, the titan was only hurt in one game, neither the tanks nor the HQ were eliminated.

All my games got called at the end of turn three. Had any gone to four I feel I could have got more points overall, as I was usually still mostly fresh while my opponents were in much worse shape. This did prevent me from podiuming, a peculiarity of the format. I had a ton of fun, which was my goal, so I consider it a big success.

IG have one of the toughest lists in the game, IMO. An infantry company with Chimera can lay down an immense amount of firepower and can soak up a lot of blast markers. If you can get them in FF, you're likely to win against just about anyone. A Russ company is one of the best units in the game - lots of fire, good range, and the amazing 4+ reinforced armor save makes them a really, really good unit. Toss in an Earthshaker company and you've got a hell of an army.

got crushed my third and fourth game of necromunda. Had the same terrible deployment on a zone mortalis board where my only option was placing most of my crew out in the open. I had awful rolls all weekend, failing every single armor roll, hitting maybe 4 out of 16 attacks, and failing my crucial charge by half an inch. I ended up getting a lot of money out of it tho, so my crew is still stronger than ever. Guess we'll see how things go next week!

There are a few of us in the Goon CYOA discord who are doing a small necromunda campaign via tabletop simulator. So far we have found that a few missions are really broken with regards to rewards - convoy escort got one player nearly 300 credits in their first game when the opponent conceded after taking hideous losses without inflicting any. I'm working out how to adjust some of the missions so they aren't total wastes for the loser and winners can't get insane benefits from an opponent surrendering. Too much stuff where the loser gets nothing, and even more stuff where the winner barely gets anything.

Yeah, Necromunda is a terribly chaotic game. I enjoy the chaos in the actual game itself, I think that's fine, but there's a lot of stuff surrounding the game (pre-battle and post-battle) that can really have some massive consequences for your crew. It feels like a game that hasn't been playtested at all, which is very Games Workshop, and I still find it fun but I'd love to see a more balanced version of it.

I think almost everything dealing with the game part is mostly solid, but the pre/post battle sequences need some serious tweaks.

it possibly doesn't help that there's never really been a necromunda-style GW game that really dialed in the aftermatch sequence well. new-cramunda is better than some of the games (say, gorkamorka), at least.

I'd like to find whoever designed the sprues for the Kommando Orks in the Kill Team box and nail them to the loving cross lol. Spreading out all that poo poo illogically was bad enough---but to not even differentiate whether an item is on the main sprue or the tinier sprue, both labeled as "C"---is abominable. Probably the worst experience I've ever had clipping and finding things on a sprue.

For a good campaign, Necromunda really should have an active arbitrator who can recommend missions and explain where, for example, having fighters with the infiltrate skill will trivialise the Objectives. Even without taking gangs into account, lots of missions weren't thought through by the writers in terms of how bottling ends the game early and who wins in that case.

That said, even when it's more arbitrated, you need a group that can say well, that's Necromunda for you, and move on to the next scenario in confidence that what goes around will eventually come around. If a player is very focussed on fair, competitive outcomes where the better side on the day gets a proportional benefit for their victory, he is likely to get frustrated.

This is an excellent example! Don't sweat the defeat too much, bound to happen sooner or later. As you've said, your gang is still OK to keep fighting, and that's the main thing.

My Necromunda campaign has stalled pre-fonale. It was all nicely set up for a big narrative game to end. I had 5 people confirmed to come round my house. 4 of them flaked, one by one, so we cancelled. Really frustrating.

Yeah, I'm going to be arbitrating next season and I'm thinking of making some big tweaks. Namely, allowing players to have a vote on certain options, doing group gang fights and teamups, allow people to trade territories, and potentially having preset missions on each board, making it so you can only play on a board once per week (we do 2 games per week). That way some people don't get stuck playing on the same board twice, everyone plays the same scenarios on each board, and it saves some time on setup.

I may also make an app to help speed up the pre and post game, but that'll take some time.

Yeah, I'm arbitrating the campaign I talked about earlier - this first one is just a trial with 4 people and we have been fairly relaxed on everything. I'm just keeping notes on stuff that needs to be tweaked so nobody gets totally screwed due to lack of income producing territory or an unstoppable advantage from outsized winnings in single scenario.

An LGS is going to start pushing Blood Bowl a little bit with the upcoming Dungeon Bowl and I'm so ready to get back into it again.

Main thing I'm trying to find now is a decent neoprene pitch. Txarli Factory used to have a decent one and I held off on buying it because international shipping is a bitch. New job means now I'd be willing to bite that bullet, but it seems Txarli Factory is now just selling stls and doesn't have any physical items at all anymore.

I have a few of the GW pitches, but I hate cardboard game surfaces and most 3rd party neoprene ones I can find now have the dugouts built in which I'm not a fan of.

A box of Ambots, if he doesn't have them already. Other than that, there isn't anything Escher specific, outside of FW models. They're cool but expensive, and probably not going to be used in most games.

Hey, I've got a couple of Blood Bowl 2 related questions, if you don't mind! Firstly, my Amazons are going up against vampires tonight and unfortunately, due to lack of free time I've been unable to have any practice matches against the AI, to get a feel for them. My thoughts so far are that I should eliminate as many thralls as possible (at least, ones nearer to vampires etc) and maybe foul a vamp if I get the chance.
Then just try to get possession of the ball and set up a staggered screen to protect the carrier, and try to gradually progress while the vampires (hopefully) tear their own team apart. For this I imagine I should try to kick/defend first so that when I attack they're weakened, but I'm not 100% on that.

Also the second question: Seeing as I'm quite inexperienced with BB2 (only teams I have any degree of familiarity with are Lizzies and 'zons), what would a good team to start a league against mostly-experienced players be? I'm tossing up continuing with my Amazons, but I'm also wondering about starting a new team (seeing as I suspect my Amazons will be outclassed before too long. There aren't many teams with tackle yet, but still) with a team like Chaos Dwarves, or just Chaos or even Skaven.
Since we'll be starting a new season of our league soon, so I'll be against Dwarves, Norse (prob), Chaos Dwarves, a couple of Ork teams, Dark elves, Nurgle and a few other teams

MRLOLAST

Depends on the vamp player. But it should be a dead easy win. It's the only team where you can win vs by not doing a damned thing. Otherwise just play your normal game and be happy for the spp when you Cas a thrall.
For long balanced leagues I have actually found humans to be pretty fun. They get the best storylines-always the underdog but can win any game with good play, otherwise Orcs are pretty cool as well.

Screening against Vamps may or may not work depending on their dice. If your screen is too lose (eg. two spaces between your players) then the vamps will have an easier time using Hypno to make a hole, and your screen will fall apart. They might still just make a hole anyway. There's not much you can do about that but if you always try to keep some players in between your main screening line and the ball that will help.

Otherwise your instinct to kill as many Thralls as possible is spot on. Your blitzers should be targeting them as aggressively as you can while maintaining the screening strategy. Foul the Thralls and not the vamps, at least to begin with. If you can get the thrall numbers down significantly you will severely limit the vamps' freedom to operate.

It's no fun being the OP Chaos Dwarf team that winn's every game 1-0 and kills the opponents starplayer every game that everyone hates to play against. It gets boring. Same with playing rats and relying on some OP gunners to carry and constantly never using the apo on heroic linerats and saying no to +st upgrades on them.
Better to be balanced and have fun. Being good with rolling 3+ for key dodges is the trick to being a good human coach.

The Open Hive War cards for necromunda are impossible to find and very expensive on ebay, and they don't print the drat things anymore, so I don't feel bad at all for making a web app that generates the mission for you.

Feedback would be helpful! (note: I didn't make the cards, found them on yaktribe so if they have spelling errors or other problems I can't fix that)
