Woah, you can move the blocks in Archon Grid. And some blocks get rid of floor pieces! Neat. I'm pretty sure I'm like 95% of the way through the game and somehow just discovering this, hah. I have no idea why you would ever want to, perhaps there is some combination of block movings that will unlock a secret? Right now it doesn't look like it though. How odd.

The quickest path to the end involves a minimum of block pushing, and I think there's some pushing in the very involved path that leads to the obstacle course where you find the other curse orb and the holy goggles. Otherwise I think it's just for the confusion and the aesthetic of being trapped inside the hideous sokoban game.

I got all of those things and beat the level a dozen times before learning I could push the blocks, hah. Technically I did all of those things before realizing you could break some of the blocks too. Clearly I was not thinking about blocks the right way. I just assumed they were impassable and went through the sewer instead, which takes you right to the room next to the items AND the boss with no block interactions at all. it shoots depleted uranium armor piercing rounds I didn't realize the blocks were pushable for a while because sometimes they don't want to move, I brushed up against them a bunch and nothing happened so I wrote it off until I saw things that were impossible without manipulating them and bashed my face against them also I swear they move faster if you're pushing into them while going backwards

There's a back door to the room with the poison floor, looking at the final boss its the bottom left leg of that room right at the end. To get in through it, just head straight outside from the beginning till you get past the edge of the maze block, then turn around and drop down below it, there's a tunnel with a poison floor. You'll need some sort of traversal upgrade to access it though.

Is he actually immune to the DNA scrambler, or does it just take a lot of hits to make it work? E: Either way, unless the latest patch fixed something, don't worry about speedrunning HQ. It's the one map where you always get a C. You can get all four times though, including uncursed default loadout which is a huge ballache. Or have a wheel of fortune fish in your inventory and use the transactional rifle to kill him in one hit, I GUESS.

You can honestly just fire it once and then let him keep hitting you and leave him in the cloud. It will eventually kill him. Then you just have to slowly move by bunny hopping to the exit. Easiest way is to get the zkz and have fished up a $1M fish in the casino first. He won't even get near you.

# ? Nov 15, 2021 02:50 |

The mall madness thing is frustrating to me because all the interesting stock stuff happens so early in the game before you had any real reason to look at it or touch it. I think I beat mall madness the first evening I played and didnt touch the stocks until after that because, well, I was busy doing missions.

# ? Nov 15, 2021 03:31 |

It’s faster to just do a fresh game. I was hinted to invest before mall madness and not complete the next level for a bit, went from like 5k to 100 million by just leaving my computer on for a bit.

I was a big dummy and didn't realize the stock market changed with the missions (assumed it was random) so I had to fish to unlock House and other such high ticket items.
|
# ? Nov 15, 2021 17:56 |
|
I just spent ten minutes working the markets on Nightfish and Gloomoids to afford the house. Averaging a 20x return on investment over the course of fifteen minutes gets you there pretty quick, since those fish tend to bounce constantly between being worth a fraction of a center and being worth $20-30 dollars (at least on my machine) its basically making money out of nothing, but man does it make a person with they could buy a thousand or ten thousand at a go instead of just a hundred.
|
# ? Nov 15, 2021 18:01 |
|
I just got lucky and caught a wheel of fortune to buy the house. Then I got even luckier and caught another one, slapped some extra fish on top to push myself over 1 mil. E: Wait, no, I might have got 1mil somewhere else and used it to buy a wheel of fortune.

I got over a billion thinking it affected the zkz. Just using the eyes of corporate insight and buying dips, there’s a bunch of stocks that regularly drop down into the $20-30 range then go up over $1,000. I actually had to make a mouse click macro to do it. It doesn’t affect the zkz it caps at a million. It was all a waste. I also genuinely laughed the first few times I hit tab instinctively to bring up a map and it brings up the stock ticker instead. I think it’s intentional. This game rules, it grabbed me more than any game has in years. It’s just so bizarre and funny, and genuinely fun and well designed too.
