not sure how this started, but i was dreaming about a game in which you alternated back and forth between mario, luigi, and this woman who was a corporate spy. i don't know if it was VR or what, but the "game" was just a real life experience. there was a big conference organized by some kind of elon musk type, and there was a ton of corporate espionage going on. only certain people were supposed to be allowed in, so as all three characters, you had to hide in a scripted sequence for each floor. i was (as mario, luigi, or corpo spy woman) hiding under blankets and in closets, trying desperate not to breathe when people looked for me. it was terrifying. whenever you got caught, you would be shot, and it was incredibly realistic and upsetting, so you could say "load state" to go back to one of the game's generous auto-saves to save yourself from experiencing the "getting shot" part.

at one point i got caught, and i was so exhausted from trying to hide, that i decided "gently caress it," and used mario's jump to try to kick the gun out of the guy's hand. i succeeded and i used mario's gloved hand to shoot him. he died horribly, writhing on the floor. the game moved onto the next floor, which was usually happened, but i realized that by killing the guy, i had avoided a long stealth crawl through something called "the boob museum" where corporate bigwigs were drinking cocktails and looking at a bunch of tit themed art, and i was disappointed.

eventually, the end of the game is that the musk-type guy revealed that dragons were real, and he had obtained a baby dragon. dragons could, apparently, learn everything a person knew by eating their brains, so he had made his scientists use the baby dragon DNA to create a sort of horrible human/dragon hybrid woman, and he was going to have her eat the brains of his competitors. people in his own company that he considered "disloyal" were made to stay on the top floor observatory while he went into some kind of bunker, because the dragon's mother was coming to kill everyone near the baby. mario and luigi were there standing on top of each other inside a trench coat, and they winked at me (the corporate spy woman had been eaten by the dragon thing, and now i was the third character, i guess). the way to beat the game (i apparently already knew because i'd beaten it many times before) was to lure the mother dragon to the bottom floor, trap the hybrid dragon thing in the revolving door, and spin it so that just the hybrid thing was accessible, so that the mother dragon would eat its brain and learn about musk-guy's crimes and leave everyone else alone. mario and luigi rescued some of the other people (i don't know how) in the meantime.

i woke up fully convinced that this was a real game and that i had to show it to my brother, and i wanted to do a replay and see the boob museum. then when i went back to sleep, i had a sequel dream, but mario and luigi were not in it (it was about musk-guy being so impressed at my espionage at getting to the top of his tower or w/e that i was hired for him to develop video games).

I had a dream my friend was running a bed and breakfast. One of the guests had a vintage PC that looked like the typical early 90's computer except the case was as high as the ceiling. Somehow the only input on the computer was a laserdisc player. The guest realized all of the games he had brought were on betamax tapes. He had worked out some sort of conversion device and was showing me his old games. It was all generic looking arcade style DOS games except one of the games was randomly just a port of FFX.

It was at this point I realized I was dreaming and thought it would be a great thing to post in this thread. I tried to use the man's computer in my dream to post about my dream but I realized I couldn't read because I was still dreaming so I was explaining my dream to random strangers as it was happening hoping somebody would be able to go online and post it for me.

Dreamed that I'd been reading about the super intense realistic melee combat in Elden Ring and I was excited to check it out, which immediately translated into me being in the game. I was fighting some lightly armoured guys n a courtyard and it explained that because this was still the network test, my actions and approach to the game would change the systems and development in real-time. I ended up in a really brutal and clumsy fight in a tavern which ended up with us both exhausted and bleeding out, and i finished my enemy off by slowly driving an old blunted sword into his chest as he coughed blood.

Eventually he died and i stopped to take a breather and asked if my playing was providing valuable feedback. There were suddenly a couple of young professional people there, presumably VR avatars or whatever, and they seemed really troubled. They explained that i spent way too much time fighting just one foe and that an army of spectral warriors had just been raised in the courtyard, and that at my rate, fighting them would take hours. They explained that the other issue was that i had made a terrible mistake and that i was playing the new Kirby game and had ruined it by "giving Kirby inappropriate ideas" and my vision panned over to Kirby in the Sword disguise looking down at his bright cartoony sword, then over to the bloody corpse, and cocking his head quizzically
