Hey what are some good resources for learning about weather patterns? I studied fluids/thermo in college but never really with climate as the context. I was looking at a radar gif and it was cool watching clouds form off the coast in norcal and flowing north. I kinda wanna look at some of the details of that process. I want to perceive the coming death in its full mathematical glory.

I took Atmospheric and Oceanic Dynamics in undergrad and it was all vector calculus and was significantly harder than the thermodynamics and quantum mechanics classes I took.

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology has declared a La Nina event for the SH summer which means more storms and cyclones for eastern and northern Australia. http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/enso/ It's expected to be weak and short lived but it's the second year in a row that we've had one and a lot of river catchments are already full from last year and can't really handle more rain. At least we wont burn down again though.
