It should also be mentioned that in the latter half of WW2, when the RKKA was on the offensive, they took similar losses to the germans on the offensive, even with the Stalin fuckery on the officer corps and the surprise attack. The germans meanwhile took soviets-in-Barbarossa losses. Turns out grinding urban battles with World War 2 technology gets a ton of people killed! The whole "bolshevik hordes and german supermen" is a myth.
