Chiyoshoma vs Hoshoryu was a really solid match, great back and forth.

Terutsuyoshi, Day 6. pseudodragon posted:Kotonowaka is single handedly killing my fantasy Sanyaku hopes. But trading for non-kyujo goes against the spirit of sumo. What sucks more is that my second choice was Hokotofuji, for the exact same reason I picked Koto - a guy who’s supposed to be higher up the banzuke but dropped due to injury. I, on the other hand, and faithless and fickle, and am precisely trading away Kotonowaka for Hokutofuji. I hope he gets surgery, he's young and talented and huge. He can come back. That was gorgeous dohyō-craft from Mitakeumi just now. That tiny little hop to keep himself in the air as Myogiryu crashed down was fantastic

Big wins today for my group! Anytime I can sweep the board like that I'll take it. I feel bad for Wakatakakage though; Ichinojo just yeeted him out of the ring today. At least he can say it wasn't the worst launch out of the dokyo that day.

So I’m not sure the dead body rule even exists considering Takakeisho was completely horizontal and only won by virtue of Ichinojo tossing him too drat far. Total gift of a win and I don’t like it, especially after Ichinojo dragged him into deep water and proved that Takakeisho might have added a second way to win but he’s still hopeless past the first 5 seconds.

Not sure if you caught it but there was a Ichinojo hair pull earlier in the bout, that was the reason given for the Takakekisho win. Do agree with your take on the ending though, unfortunate such a strong performance was negated by Ichi inadvertently getting a handful of topknot.

Really frustrated by Wakatakakage's underperformance right now. Between him and Ichinojo, my upper ranks are seriously ugly. Glad to see Tochi back, though, wish I had him but gotta follow my personal standard of never trading.

I hate to see a hairpull DQ, but Ichi really hosed up by not keeping his fingers flat. Almost nobody ever does a hairpull on purpose, but part of doing techniques that involve hands on the back of someone's head just requires a specific posture of the hand. Day 8 standings: Makuuchi code:

I'm glad I didn't decide to trade, since my lower division picks have been showing up the past couple days and putting points on the board, which turned out to be especially important for today, a day where two of my upper division picks had to fight it out (to say nothing of poor Endo getting splattered by the ever-rolling Terunofuji train).

Ichinojo and Takakeisho talk: It makes sense but I had never really thought that there wasn't a way to stop a match after an egregious foul like that. It would really suck if somebody was injured by I dunno flying out of the ring and bouncing off the rope when they had already won due to a hair pull. Also, what would have happened if Takakeisho had committed a hair pull on Ichinojo? Is it first one to foul loses, or is there some sort of offsetting penalties rule?

It's the only one that's likely to happen by accident. Generally eye pokes and groin kicks have to be deliberate.
